so i finally got around to getting my shit swapped into my shell. it ran good aside from the overheating and loping idle. i changed the thermostat and bled the system so now it does not over heat. i bought a new o2 sensor, a new cone air filter, a new distributer cap, and some autozone spark plug wires.

so i put the cap and the wires on, runs good.

i then decide to purchase a timing light from harbor freight. so i get home and change my o2 sensor, my air filter, and then i decide to relearn the ecu by taking off the battery terminals for an hour or two. i get back to it, it runs like shit. it continues to run like shit. i ran the ecu, code 11 for camshaft position sensor.. i check the wiring, its good. clear it, code 55 afterwards.

i decide to buy maf cleaner and intake cleaner from autozone. i sprayed my maf, and then some intake cleaner into the vacuum line that feeds off the intake into the aac. the car idles good, no loping, no shaking. i say to myself 'good job.'

i take it for a spin, but now it bogs really bad! usually if i take off into first with less than 1500 it bogs down like the engine dies for a second. when i get to around 2500 at WOT, it feels like i am letting off the throttle, but then again i am on the pedal. pretty much through out the rpm range there are 'flat spots' where you can feel the car decelerating, similar to the feeling when you let off.

my first thought is, bad MAF. i take off the maf sensor then i rev to to 2500, and you can still feel it bog a little bit as if the sensor was on. when you race the engine slowly up the rpms, the hesitation is alot more apparent. arghh

i dont even want to drive this thing. just today changed the fuel filter, and resealed the fuel pump assembly because it was leaking. i thought i was losing fuel pressure.

and yes, the timing of my ka24de is set to 20btdc

sounds like spark. Did you replace your plugs?

did you unplug your tps and set your idle before adjusting timing?

i just checked my spark plugs, looks good. they were replaced 5,000 miles ago. yes i unplugged my tps, set my idle to 650, then timed it, then plugged the tps back in.

i also checked my fuel pressure regulator hoses, i did the carb cleaner trick. looks good.

so if it still hesitates with my maf unplugged, it means my maf is good, correct?

or should i try to get another maf for my car?
