I actually bought some Tenzo Shu-4's. I don't think they're rice but I don't like how they look as much as I thought I would on my S13. Alot better than stock though. I like 5Zigen and Axis but couldn't find the right offset with the right lug pattern. If you want to see a pic of 17" Shu-4's on an S13 Coupe, I'll post one Friday Evening.

Tenzo R's are gay....all there rims are cheap imitations of quality rims...they juss made a rims that looks just like the Volk GT-C called apex 5 and made some fake Mugen RNR's called sinko... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> what will they come up with next?
Fake Zeit Version RR. That hurts.

Your talking about $1K-$2K difference in price for a few pounds. Some people are just looking to get rid of the steel wheels and hubcaps.
Would you rather wear a Seiko watch or a fake Rolex?
I would rather own something stock, conservative and original than a poorly-finished knockoff copy of someone else's work and design. Even if the quality is decent (which it usually isn't), the fact that it is a copy is an insult in itself.

Here's the worst part.
Subject A: Doesn't know much about quality wheels so he buys some tenzo's. Everybody thinks his wheels are bad ass since their "aftermarket". He's happy with his 500 purchase.
Subject B: (me) Does NOT want to buy el cheapo wheels. So he rolls around on 300z rims. People are like. Eh? You need some cool after market rims man. I heard there not that expensive. NO! I reply. I don't want to buy el cheapo rims. Other person replies. "what do you mean? I can't tell the difference"
damn APC and their corperate schemes!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

What I hate the most is that people buy/"jock" these RiMz without ever knowing about the originals. What if some punk kid comes up and says "Those are tYt3 Tenzo AV-7's (or Konig Tantrums), yO." in regards to your Advan Model 7's?

please dont buy crap knock-offs. buy the real thing, even if it takes longer and is more expensive. everytime you see your car and you look at the wheels that took you so long to buy you'll just feel better all around. and the resale value will be much higher.
you get what you pay for.
It SHOCKS me to see that there are already knockoffs of the CE28N's. The rip of the Advan Model 7 has to be the most widespread I've seen of any wheel. The ones that hurt me the most are the copies of the Zeit Version SS and RR.
Rumor has it that Advan is delay releasing some of their new wheels cuz they are so pissed off about knockoffs. Wheels released in Japan will show up as knockoffs in the US before the originals. Apparently only a few people have the Super Advan Gen 2's (i.e.- Taniguchi) right now.

I hate to say it but there have been times when I've seriously considered getting some knockoffs Just to at least tide me over. A full set with tires for 600 bux. Compared to the 600 a JDM rim. It really sucks.
Thats why I've moved away from JDM rims. It's all about deep dish EDM (European domestic market) rims now!

This is the exact reason that I am still rollin' on the stock alloys. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> If I could afford the Volks or Advans you best belive that they would be on my car but I don't have the money. So, yes, I have contemplated putting cheaper rims on the car (i.e. gram lites) When I say cheaper I mean $800-900 for a set as compared to $2000-3000 for a set. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
It's frustrating but I want lighter and will take the trade-offs.
Soapbox time:
Also, I say "thank you" to knock off companies! "Why?" you ask, well it's simple all the money that could go into a set of rims can go into making you car go faster to make up for heavier rims. On the track a good set of tires will do the job w/o ever touching the Advan *place expensive rim name here* and the Volk *place other expensive rim name here* So I ask how are you better than the broke ricer? Oh shit I forgot you have money so that lets you afford better rice?
Yes, I know that I said that I would get the Advans or Volks but I also am not calling rice on the poor kid who doesn't have the money to blow on vanity rims. So before you start knocking people check your bank account and recognize. If you can shell out the cash for them more power to you and if not join the club the rest of us reside in
Steping off soapbox
Sorry about that but I hate the expesive a$$ parts that people call performance but only see carpet time and not track time

i understand your point nrcooled.
personally, i take great pride visually in my car (for the most part). hence, i want nice wheels. the price tags are heavy yes, but i've been seriously considering some Volk Te37s in a 15". maybe 16". my car isn't show car (not even close) its primarily a daily driver track car. and lately at least 1 track event a week. that's more then the average joe. now, putting money out for a quality high end, well designed, lightweight, wider wheel is worht. rolling w/ stockers on a 15x6" +40 isnt going to work when you run:
coilovers
z brakes
tires are cheaper yes, and you can get a very very good selection, but it depends what you are doing as well.if your going to be putting around town, i'd say go knockoff. if you are looking for something that's going to improve your times, lighten your car up and STILL get you the headturning then go authentic.
i just always prefer to buy stuff that i know i'd end up buying in the long run (Ex. taking coilovers instead of shock/springs). i would have no problem dropping 2K for some bronze 16x8 and 16x9 TE37s (eventhough i wouldnt pay 2k, i can get them much cheaper)
anyways. not trying a flame war, but i do agree w/ you nrcooled. many valid points!
i rode my alloys for well over 1 year. they did the job, but no more.
if someone wants lighter and good looks: kosei K1 is perfect. if you need the bling bling factor and have no money, then you'll most likely end up with some Tenzos or something.
