How mechanically inclined are you and your friends? It is a simple swap (as simple as a swap would be) You have a SOHC 240sx right? The wiring for the ECU is alittle harder for those, but can be done. You will need all the normal tools and a engine hoist to install the engine. Here is a site with step by step instructions. Read over it and then see if you think you can do it. http://www.eurostreetgraphics.com/srswap.htm

Will me and my friend's my not be the best but we have fix some cars and trucks.I have changed tran's'motor in a boat 4 time's and rebuilt a outdrive volvo 280 leg dont know if you know what that is.
Would the sr20det swap be just as easy as puting in a ka24de engine.
Thanks

For sure. Unless you've done one before, pay the experts.

This coming from the person that has never done one, just pays a shop. If your mechanically incline why not give it a shot? Hardest part is tracking ever single little part you need. Of course you could just be like IceTekGuy and post a question on the forum everytime your shop runs into the tiniest snag http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
How long has your car been in the shop Ice?

i heard the you have to do something different to the stearing cause its for the 180 and not the 240 but if its me ( i have changed 2 5.0 moters ) but my car goes to the shop if you do it yourself than you dont get the waranty
that you would get from a pro.

its been there for 2 and a half months, but the point is... i see what my mechanic goes through, while i help him... and its just a big bitch CA18Guy, so dont make it seem like i sit back and dont do shit...
and the column has to be relocated to the other side i think is what the steering thing is about, well not relocated inside the car, but the shaft or something like that... ill find out if you want
