since the s-chassis section is dead as night ill ask this here too
this is on an s14
just put a 5sp tranny into my auto (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=190564#), i went to spin the driveshaft to put the bolts in the other side and it wouldnt budge, tried shifting it into neutral (without a shifter installed, i tried using all kinds of things to shift it but it doesnt shift) but even if its in gear it should move a little either way, but instead it acts like somethings seized or stuck, motor turned fine when the tranny was unbolted and it ran good with the auto in it, i had the tranny apart and it shifted then :bash: but now nothings moving
im guessing trannys bad but like i said i had it apart and it shifted then, only thing wrong with the tranny was the end tip of a shift fork was broken off

edit: just found a socket that fits into the shifter thing where the ball of the shifter goes, put an extension on that, and its definitely not shifting

did you remove the auto tranny's pilot bushing and put in the manual trans bushing that came with your clutch kit, or did you just force it in there?.....was your ebrake on? hehe

could be a bad tranny....if the tranny was fine in another car then it's something you did during installation, that's all it can be man. might have to take it back down to check

gl with it,
Dave

had the samr problemb4 i was swapping ka trans to sr bellhousing and some how on accident while swapping housings i pushed all the slectors down these r located behind th cover the holds the pivot ball 4 the clutch fork also i heard of ruff handling banging dropping them whike not in the car can do this also so buck up take the tranny out and reset and also if u force the trans on with mpacting the bolts it will also do this and your car will pop out of gear 2 lemme me know how u make out

okay my question is, is there suppose to be any shaft play up and down? what would cause the pilot bushing to be destroyed even if it was properly lubed(antiseize) and tranny was put in with care not force?...
