I was wondering if anyone is using this turbo on a bottom mount setup? I bought one (3076 .63 ar) and it's on my coupe already, but just looking around for someone to tune my power fc. I know alot of people are running top mount with this turbo but the reson I'm not is because I'm affraid of getting pulled over and making me pop my hood. But anyways please share any knoledge you have on this turbo., THANKS!!!!!!!

I'd like to know some info too! free bump. would like to know how it compares with the top mount setup of the same turbo

Its a 3076 with a 56mm wheel to fit into the T25 housing.
Consensus is that its laggier than it needs to be, and doesn't make the peak power of the 3076
Then again Kazama used it for a while, but he was spraying to get it up into power.

if it's a 30/76 the compressor housing should be a .60 a/r if it's a .50 then you have a 30/71, it's a great 400+ turbo (mine's a precision, i love those guys)
we just tuned a buddy of mine's car tonight. red top s13 sr20, gt28/71r .84 (the mid size) 403rwhp /343rwtq? (i forget the tq) @ 18.5 psi, 810cc injectors, z32 maf, power fc, stock bottom end, hg, studs, 264 cams/springs/retainers. i'll look tomorrow at when he hits full boost if you want. also keep in mind our dyno is a steady state mustang dyno, so he'd have bigger numbers (if #'s matter) on a dynojet.
as far as my 30/76r on my rb25, i would get 22psi on 100octane = 3500rpm 350ft lb tq
93octane (pump gas here in GA) 20psi @ 3700rpm
one of my favorite turbo's.....i may be trying a borg warner s262 on my ka-t 510 tho, supposedly quicker spool than 35r but makes more power. anywho look into the borg warner turbos , and if it's a real 30/76r with a .60 a/r compressor housing ur gonna have a helluva time with a stock or megan style bottom mount. not saying you can't get one custom made, but you also have to think about the downpipe and clearing your steering rack with where it's gonna end up sitting....
just my .02, gl with it man, keep us posted on ur build

Are any of those a 3076R WG?
Most reviews I have seem is that it is laggy on the SR and Creeps on the KA-T. That little wheel on the turbine can't spin the compressor well. The 2871R .86 shows better numbers on the SR then the WG 3071/76. If you want a 3076r go T3. If you want to stay T2 go with the 2871R.

i dunno what that means, the gt30/76r on my Z is externally wastegated (tial 38mm) t3 flange
the gt28/71r on my friend's sr we tuned yesterday was t2 flange internally wastegated /w hks actuator.
dunno if that's what u meant

WG models of the GT30 is T2 flanged with internal gate. Also a smaller turbine wheel. Totally different animal then the T3 versions.
ive got a 3071 wg on my redtop sr. i made 349 atw without cams but the lag was shit. i always thought there was something wrong with the turbo or the wastegate wasnt sealing properly. it spooled as slow as a sc61 on a stock engine. tuned by jeff evans. i have talked to a few people on oz that love the damn thing and say it gets full boost around 3700 rpms. mine just slowly crept up to 18 psi and leveled out around 5k

that sounds like a pretty shit ass setup. a different animal?
GT3076R is one of the best turbos out... Evos make really good HP on them and im sure SR's or KA's do also. but those are all T3 flanged and external wastegate. my favorite turbo tho is still the GT35R or a T04R T3

Nah thats the way they are.
You really have to adapt your driving around it. total bitch.
Alot of the J-guys run that setup and I imagine its why they all slip the clutch to stay in power.

I had the gt2871r .64ar, and wanted something bigger but keep it bottom mount. Its a gt3076 .64ar it's already on my car, the the turbo outlet almost rubs on the transmission, but other than that everything else fits alright. Now I need to get it tuned.

i was going to go this route.. but i just said F bottum mounts and i gots me a t67... i bet your setup will be much more fun tho.. mines going to be pretty laggy lol

that's what nitrous is for :rawk:
another sr car dyno'd today
s14 sr20, stock internals, 550cc's, gt28/71r .6X a/r, power fc d-jetro = 324rwhp/289tq @ 16 psi /w low 11 a/f. turbo kicks in hard a little after 3k, dunno if it's cause the vvt helps him or the smaller housing but the 28/71 mid a/r on my other friend's s13 sr that made the
[email protected] didn't kick in hard till around 37-3800
just throwing out some ideas to the OP
BORG WARNER S262 FTW!
INTERNAL WASTEGATE FTL!

With my old setup 2871 .64ar and all the bolt on's, it made 324whp/291tq @ 18psi. Oh and i had full boost by 3800. I just need someone to tune my ride.
The only thing I changed was the cams, valve springs, retainers, and the turbo. The car starts and runs alright but knock is kind of high when idling, but as soon as I step on it a little..knock goes way down. I don't want to risk blowing my motor.

The 3076r-WG has a 56.5mm turbine wheel which is smaller than the T3 version of the 3076r which has a 60mm exhaust wheel.
I supposed the 3076r-WG would be slightly better than the 2876r due to the fact that they both have smaller turbine wheels to drive huge compressor wheels.

The differential between wheels is much less on the 2871.

YES YES I agree.
I'm not so sure what made ATP come out with the idea to take a great turbo (GT3076R) and trim down the turbine wheel from a 60mm to a 56.5mm and cram it into a T2 housing without thinking about what it's going to do for spool up and such...
The GT2876r used a 76mm compressor with a 53mm turbine

my car with hks 264 step 2 cams, fidanza prolight flywheel, Pfc l jetro, tomei 740s, vibrant ex mani, greddy in mani, and gt2871r .86 made 330 whp at 15 psi

Both of those turbos are Garrett Japans doing.
HKS eats their shit over horrible turbos. I don't know why.
