I have a NA KA (DE) and looking for an exhaust that suit for the NA KA. An exhaust for torque in the low to mid speed range.

Question is which one is the best pick for the NA KA, or any other suggestion

Here my choice:

Buddy Club Spec ll CatBack
Circuit Sports dual tip 3" catback

Or any other brand ...

*Locate in SoCal.. so something that not crazy loud

Well, gee. Where to start?

I don't think you want an NA KA with a BC Spec II exhaust in SoCal, your shit will be unbelievably stupid crazy loud.

The CS would probably be a decent choice, they're fairly quiet.

2.5" is reccomended as the minimum for 1.5-2.5 liter na engines go with a 3" whatever brand/straight pipe and you should be set.

edit: just saw you need it to be quiet. add a resonator.

if you want something quiet, steer clear of the Buddy Club Sec II. i believe its the loudest catback available, its pretty much a straight pipe.

backpressure does NOT equal torque. i dont care how much hillbilly hotrod owners talk about how backpressure is needed. they're stupid. high exhaust flow can help with scavenging by creating a small vaccum that pulls out more of the exhaust in the cylinder. so like i said, 2.5" for the MINIMUM

the easiest/cheapest way to go would be to get a 2.5"-3" custom system crush bent with a factory styled higher flow muffler like PHLIP's old set up (i dont know if he still has it) and if you're feeling spunky -and i dont know why you wouldnt be- get a high flow cat put on as well.

this would be ideal if i had to worry about how my exhaust looked/sounded http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/mmp/nissan~240sx~exhaust_system~parts.html (IM TALKING ABOUT THE GENERAL APPEARANCE, NOT THE QUALITY OR PERFORMANCE OF THE PRODUCT LISTED IN THE LINK) i dont feel like hearing SHIT about "pace setter this" or pace setter that".

I daily drive a NA KA24DE with a Buddy Club Spec II in SoCal. I don't think it is that loud but some people that ride in my car say the exhaust is annoying. I have no complaints about the Spec II exhaust.

i know a good amount of people with a apexi noir...believe me its quiet really great for daily driving and its in black...one of the quiestest exhaust on the market...only thing is the tip...other than that sound wise it sounds like a sport exhaust option from factory.

It's a really quiet exhaust. If you're worried about tip size, go to an exhaust shop and have them weld you some 3" piping with a resonator, and a chambered muffler in the back with a 3" tip. Or something.

the last person to complain about my exhaust got left @ the gas station. fuck them. they asked ME for a ride, they should keep their mouth fucking shut.

i was all nice about it too! i was like "heres a couple bucks, go get us some drinks" lol i was like, BYAAAAHHHH! went home and watched tv.

RS*R ExMag II. I had it when I was NA, & loved it. Still love it now that I'm boosted. Main reason I got it was due to living in CA & not wanted to get noticed for an exhaust.
Not loud or rice sounding. Plus it's all black (except for the tip),so cops wont notice it for the most part.

The RS*R ExMag version I is what you're talking about. The ExMag GTII is very loud, and the ExMag version II has a polished muffler.

Does anybody have dyno comparisons between stock exhaust and aftermarket exhaust?

I have dyno slips on my chevy 350 on stock exhaust and open exhaust. Lost 60 bhp with the stocker.

yea but even w/ a stock muffler, u still lose torque all kinds dont u? the muffler'll just make it quieter than the aftermarket muffler.

stock STYLE muffler yo. they only look the part

your best bet for a truly decent stealth system on a budget, is to get a muffler off of the newest v6 eclipse and use that with some meineke bent pipe or whoever bends exhaust around you...

As long as you increase the diam as it gets farther away from the engine you will increase tq.

I've been looking into the Tanabe super medallion hyper. Looks like a sport exhaust. They have a clip on youtube but it's on a S2000.

truth.

like i stated earlier, if you want a decent exhaust, go to whoever bends exhaust near you and ask for a catback. TWO AND A HALF INCHES INNER DIAMETER MINIMUM. shouldnt be more than $100 and you might as well get a header and a new cat too

yeah, its crush bent, but if you go with a decent diameter pipe, (2.5" to 3+") crush bends wont matter.

if you want something that looks stockish but has a pretty cool sound to it, use the muffler from the newest v6 eclipse. its muffled but rumbly.

edit: in the past, ive sang praises for sand bending pipes, but i reccomend that purely for those who want to make their own pipes, and dont have access to a mandrel machine
