Just wondering anyone know what the weight of the mb motoring competitions are in contrast to the weapons in 17x9+17?

I recall someone posting that they weighed the 17x9+17 competitions at 19.8lbs if im not mistaken... could you reconirm and what about the weapons?

I have competitions on order, but... they are back ordered so I have to wait a while... and well... I need tires baadly one of the rear tires is so worn it even developed a bubble... i got a spare whee/tire ill put on but man oh man... its crazy dangerous :(

The guy offered me choice between weapons as they are immediately available and competitions i have to wait maybe another week :(

I remember someone saying the weapons were like 24lbs or something... and i wouldnt be surprised they are more spokes... but i need someone to confirm..

They're all "relatively" light weight but if you want super light, poop cast is not for you. Just get some RPF1s...they're not that much more but they are light and strong and look better than either of those wheels.

Well I already know that. RPF1s in 18x10.5+15 weight 19lbs. You do the math. They are 1300$ shipped on average. Great deal, but out of my budget for this year and not necessary for this year.

I opted for the MBs due to price. Even if I got the wheels I could not get the tires ($$$). 19lbs is okay for 17x9+17 for now with MBs, I dont consider spending 1000$ on sizes i dont want (17x9 RPF1s) long term even though i can still sell for hefty money. This is a temp solution, until I get the LS swap or just plain ol SR built up (might go that route too in the meantime). I'd opt for some 285/30/18 all around with 18x10.5+15 RPF1s.. heh.. but not gona happen this year. I already spent a good 5000+ on some new stuff

I just wanted to know the weight difference between the two confirmed.

And I spoke to the guy he actually got the wheels just this morning but waiting on tires :-/ Still I don't mind this question being answered... the guy who weighed them on a shipping scale at 19.8lbs if he could reconfirm cant find the thread and if he or someone else weighed the weapons too...

You can get 17x9 rpf1s for $215 ea. If you're concerned with weight and the wheels/sizes are temporary, at least the rpf's will hold their value better and weigh less than either of those MB's. And they'll look a lot better. It just doesn't make sense to me to split hairs with weights of MB's, especially when they're temporary anyway. I guess I don't get it. Sorry I can't answer your questions though - good luck.

19lbs isn't bad at all, my Regamasters (17X9) are 17...so yeah, 2lbs isn't too bad of a difference at all. My work Miesters are 20lbs a piece and they're also fully forged...so again, 19 isn't bad at ALL.

u guys cant compare these claimed weights from each other in such detail.... every scale is alil off. its like claiming one car has a 5whp advantage from another based on different dyno numbers for dynos.

but yeah those MB weapons are known to be heavy

mifesto, don't talk unless you know exactly what you're saying

I have ALOT of experience with these wheels. I've sold dozens of both wheels and handled each set personally.

The competitions are marginally lighter than the weapons, not enough so that you'd probably notice the difference to be honest.

I've weighed both on a shipping scale before that is extremely accurate (we kept it calibrated to make sure that our shipping weights were accurate).

the competitions weighed 19.8 lbs and I cannot remember exactly how much the weapons weighed but it was a marginal difference.

I have proof of the competitions weight if anyone gives a shit.

They're cheap wheels, the whole point is that they're cheap...get whatever is available.

yes, sir

according to http://www.wheelweights.net/

MB Weapons 17x9 are 21lbs

unfortunately, MB Competition's are not on the list in the size 17x9, however both the weapons and the competition's are shown in weights for 17x7.

in 17x7:
Weapons: 18lbs
Competition's: 17lbs

17x9 MB Weapons are indeed 21lbs, as measured on two different scales by myself and another scale by UPS.
