looking for someone to help me with ka problem? mechanic?

so i turn the key . .when i get to last position that the key can sit at before turning the engine on i hear this weird clicking and a lil clunking . .then i turn it on and it cranks but doesnt start. . .! i serched and nothing:/ http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/images/smilies/anger.gif . . its a ka24e


looking for someone that can help in person? . .willing to pay if prob gets fixed . . i would take it to a shop but would have to tow it there and dont have THAT MUCH TO SPEND !

check the fuel pump
its supposed to prime for a few seconds then shut off with the key in the on position
if its shot it might be the noise your hearing
mine started to whine before it went out
then gear grinding sounds

Tranny doesn't matter... it still has a fuel pump.

Is the sound coming from the back/middle/front of the car?

the sound is only heard while in the driver seat. . not when outside the car:/

the clicking is the fuel pump priming if you havent realized

ok so just change out the fuel pump , ,ahaha i am totally new at this!!! wait ill search hold on

if the click or clunk is prolonged, say about 3 to 4 seconds.. that is your fuel pump priming. if it does that, its a good thing. if it does not do that, your fuel pump might be dead, or isn't getting the power.

when you turn the key, and there is a single click, it might be your starter or a bad ground.

oh ok . .yeah the fuel pump clicks and clunks when on the position right before i turn the key on. . im buying a new fuel pump and just throwing it tomorrow hopefully thats it. . and no i dont hear any grinding
