I don't know much about holding difference, but they look hella better :) Side bolsters mite be a bit tighter??
Color scheme and the option of leather were the main differences (and lumbar support :) )
Who can pass up the tiger stripes of the SE seats??!! ;)

For what it's worth, I just picked up some Kouki S14 SE seats last week, and they're non-adjustable. But ohhhhhh so comfortable that it's not necessary.

Close. Air, tilt, and cruise were all optional on the base model, not standard.
I've got a maplight, came out of an ABS equipped SE without roof. It's pretty unique, I still have the headliner too somewhere for anyone wanting to add it. It was an option too.
I have a maplight on my base with sunroof.

I have a maplight on my base with sunroof.
All sunroof cars have a maplight, it's contained with the switch trim. The one is question is found on cars without a sunroof but it's a rare option, it's similar but has two buttons on it, one each for a light on either side.

meh, a little bit better.

Ahh, so it has two lights then. Interesting.

I have never seen an S14 w/o air & tilt.... but I'll take your word for it...
I have had 2 base S14s...
1 - 95 Base w/ options, no sunroof, cruise, power locks & windows, a/c, tilt, upgraded sound system
2 - 96 Base base base, no sunroof, no cruise, power windows, no power locks, a/c, tilt, base sound system
of course I changed things around, lol - added power locks, upgraded sound ;)
so I guess my '96 isn't the most base you can get if a/c & tilt aren't standard...
interesting on the map lights... would still love to see a pic of it..

The S14 seats don't really hold much better, but they're a lot more comfy. The seating position just feels a lot more natural, and they're firmer.

In 1996 there was an 'audio and wheel package', that added the 15" alloy wheels, AM/FM cassette with 4 speakers, and cruise. Otherwise the car came without a stereo or speakers and hubcaps. Air was an option on cars mainly up North. Tilt was standard on 1995 base models, but part of the same option on 96s.
Funny thing is, the Zenki models were only prewired for the cruise actuator under the hood, nothing else. Koukis are fully prewired for everything, the actuator, module, clutch/brake switches, and the master switch, so you can add OE cruise by just getting the parts from another car. Zenki models didn't have that luxury.
Same with the power antenna, 95 base models were prewired since it was an option with the 6 speaker CD system, but 96 models didn't come with a power antenna at all, even SEs, so it's not prewired. Same goes for 97s, but in 1998 the LEs got the power antenna, so SE models are prewired. I don't know about base models, I haven't stripped a 98 yet.

My car has cruise and top mount brake light. I am doing a 5 speed swap and ordered like 800 bucks worth of parts from courtesy Nissan. Are you saying that the cars that came with cruise have the switch wiring in place for the 5 speed or not?

? Top mount brakelight? It's in the decklid on all S14s.
And you read it wrong, way wrong. I don't even see how you got it confused. Zenki base models without cruise are not wired for the clutch and brake cancel switches. Kouki models are. Neither has anything to do with the transmission. If you're talking about the lower harness wiring, none of that is prewired in an automatic. But we all knew that.

nevermind I answered my own question. the auto brake pedal has the same switches as the manual brake pedal...
