So I'm trying to order some new led bulbs for my car, but I can't figure out the bulb size for the map light (front dome light).

The rear dome light is a 3175 but the front one is completely different.
Almost looks like a blinker light or reverse light bulb? unsure.

I checked sylvania.com under various years, but they don't list the map bulb. Can anyone help?

I know this sounds ridiculous stupid, but I just can't find out what the bulb is!

good sir, those are 1895. but i believe 57 fits too. let me know how your led map light looks after you're done with it. after i changed mine, the lighting output sucks ass. sure, matches with my led dome light but can't see shit with the map light anymore!

Well I ordered my other led bulbs from v-leds.com
They turned out great. Changed my gauge cluster lights, dome light, and license plate bulbs to leds and they all look magnificent matching with my HIDs now. haha, but now it's just annoying me that the map light doesn't match any of my lighting now with its warm white/yellow color.

Thank you for the information! I'll keep you informed on how it goes, btw, where did you order your bulb from?

ya, I'm looking at the 57's on v-leds now.

57 = 53 = 1875 = BA9's

according to them and looks like the right bulb size from what I remember.
Also, they only have one bulb which looks like it fits right because led is on the side, rather than projecting through the top. So output should be correct.

k lmk cuz i originally wanted to get those types, but i was wary of them so i got a 5 led bayonet types, thinking that more leds + facing 360 degress would = greater output. but the output still sucks.

You should try making an aluminum shield piece to reflect the light down.
btw, we should prolly take this to PM's.

You can close this mods!

Any pictures of how well they illuminate? My s13 dome light is useless.

I have 6 LEDs in my dome light and illuminates very nicely. All my friends just drop their jaw and just try to rip my dome light out >.< haha, but that snow flake one is sick! I kinda wish I had that. It's spread out more.

No, it's not Dope. It's coolness is beyond man's ability to measure.

Is that MY actual light??!
I know, right?

What justice does a picture do with night photo's? No one I know has a DSLR what would actually capture all it's glory of brightness. So, just know that it's bright as hell.

did you check out all the other shapes you can do with 12 led's? mind you..there always can be more LED's used...

PS

I'm planning to run a single Cree Q5 in my domelight at 755ma, around 200 lumens.

maplight will be dual SSC P4's at 755ma as well.

For those of you who know lighting =)

pretty much its the most updated led on the market now. back when the leds first came out they had luxeon stars, which produced about 80 lumens when driven at one amp (1000mA) depending on what type and bin code you had. then as technology advanced better emitters came out. pretty much today we have three top led companies, luxeon, cree and seoul. luexon has a rebel emitter thats 90 and 100 lumens per watt but can only be driven at lower wattage. cree has the q5 emitter, which kicks out 240lumens at 1amp. seoul has the p4 emitter which is similar. more to come later... im on my mobile

pep boys/autozone/local auto parts stores with rice parts sell the front dome lamp LED sheet, its 8 LEDs on a board that leads to bulb adapter, its the best way imo. the main dome lamp is like a 20 or so led light sheet. same thing, sheet leads to bulb adapter. those actual led bulbs suck at realistic light output. did the same thing in my 2500HD, white led 194s in all the doors then those autozone/pepboys led sheets in each dome lamp, shits pimp :)

errr stupid pic, shits like pure 4300k-6000k HID color in real life, picture comes out blue iunno why

I have one of there's in my dome light. Pricey but bright as fuck! Way better quality than auto zone led boards. I would say there customer service is complete crap though. I ordered one dome light from them but was charged for two. After multiple ignored emails and trying to find a correct phone number to call, I gave up and figured I was out my 100+ dollars. After about 2 months I finally received my dome light. But just one, and not two like I was charged for. So I pretty much have a 100+ dollar dome light.
