I'm trying to get something sent from canada/new york to cali. 3 Items, a hood and 2 fenders. What would be the cheapest way to send these?

ps. how much do these items weigh individually if anyone knows?

Hmmmm, you'll probably want truck freight.
try ESTES.

Or even www.freightquote.com

I've used them in the past.

Gives you a quote of how much to ship a pallet through different companies. Kinda like expedia and all that jazz.

should cost around 100 dollars to ship forshure its going to have to go on a pallet. under 200 forsure.

i think usp can take it in a box also. but dont remember how much it goes for from them.

No, it does NOT have to go on a pallet.
I ship parts daily.

in fact, I'd highly suggest against a pallet.

yeah, Old Dominion is pretty good.
They break stuff every once in a while
but overall, pretty good.

i HATE BAX Global.

If you're not crunched for time you can try uship.com and set up your own shipment. Also, you can try greyhound bus lines, they do shipping as well.

i doubt a hood will be able to ship UPS or FEDEX, try callin different LTL carriers (meaning truck freight)

Because the package is light, make sure they dont charge u for lift gate, and if possible have them deliever to a business or pick up for a business, cuz there's an additional charge for residential. Those two options will save you 20-50 (depending on the carrier)

+1 for Greyhound.

The do have a max size they will ship...but its normally like $100 to ship something LARGE across country.
Thats how Gruppe-S was Shipping the IX bumpers for so cheap when I bought it as well.$90 was what they charged and I had to get it from the Bus station.

use dthem quite a few times.ONly downfall is the reciever has to p/u @ the Greyhound Station.
Had to Ship an EVO IX rear bumper to NYC from N.C and the Gryhound station was like 1hr+ drive from the guy.

if DHL is still around... DONT USE THEM

UPS and fedex have seperate divisions that are not directly related to them for the larger items... I think UPS calls their "UPS HEAVY"... Fedex Air is what I think fed's is

there is UPS freight.

for something the size of fenders, it would probably go UPS "Oversize 3"

If you want to ship it cheap between two major cities, definitely look into Greyhound Package Express. That what I used quite a bit when I parted out my last car.

i HATE BAX Global.

I tried using the BAX Global website, and it was not too helpful. the best quote ive gotten online has been in the 300+ range :-(

BTW i am trying to help a seller ship his items to me. The problem is I can't weigh the items because i dont have them :duh:, and most sites require weight for a quote. UPS was even worse, they didn't display all the shipping options, just the most expensive ones :tweak:

thanks for all the feedback though, i really appreciate it. the only semi useful thread i searched up only concerned a hood and a lotta crap about greyhound haha.
