McNair retires after 13 years. Titan till he dies.

sad to see him go. guy was an animal.
cant wait for this season to start. glad tenn got McCareins back to run along side with Gage. and its always good to have Kearse back. hoping they build up their O-line a little more to help Young. their D is top notch, doesn't need much change.

This year is going to be big for the Packers. Obviously Favre retired, but we have a really solid team . Aaron Rogers isn't that bad, so who knows, we might still be a contender.
They just announced today that the are retiring Favre's jersey during the first game. I think that's a good idea. As much as I love Favre, I do want to see that part be done with and let Rogers start his career and us move on. If they waited til the end of the season that's all people would focus on until then.

Last year wasnt so bad, in terms of Browns football...def heading in the right directions, it seems. We made some nice moves so far in the off season..... But, hey, they still are the cleveland browns...
and as long as we have Brady anything is possible. You know, I heard Brady picked off an old lady at 120 yards with a football just because she looked at him the wrong way. He had also had 12 shots of jack right before he did that, too.

The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms on a trade that will send CB Adam Jones to the Dallas Cowboys.
Final details are still to be worked out prior to the draft and Jones must pass a physical before the trade will be finalized.

I hope Denver gets better this year...Last year they fucking fizzled after half the season. They started out hot and gunning, then shit went down hill. Im still not that impressed with Cutler. I actually liked Brian Griese better than Cutler...
Pacman Jones going to Dallas? Thats going to be the team with the most drama. I mean they already have loud mouth TO and they where in a hoopla about Romo going to Mexico....

You can say that again. LOL as much as I used to be a huge niners fan as much as they were great. In the course of buying the last Super Bowl they ever earned aka stacking them team with great but expensive players they hit salary cap. This wrecked them and wrecked them hard for ten years. Now the management that made them great is gone as well. Sorry to say but they have a long way to go.
I will say San Diego does look like it has a chance and I am a fan of the Chargers. Though I feel until we some how some things shape up in the next couple of weeks of pre season we will not know.

These are my predictions for these guys:
N.E. Patriots - AFC East winner/playoffs but how far?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Possible NFC South winner/Strong playoff run.
Cincinnati Bengals - Wildcard at best
New Orleans Saints - Possible NFC South winner/Strong playoff run.
I think it will be up to the Saints/Bucs to decide the South.
Cincinnati has a slight chance to get their act going this year and be a confrence front runner but it could implode just like last year.

I'm glad the whole Brett BS is over with. As a Packers and Brett fan, the last month or so has been very taxing.
He'll probably do OK for the Jets, but I don't see him playing for more then another year or two max.
But lets talk about the Packers. It's a new era for the team. What sucks is we have some very good players, but they have always been in #4's shadow. Donald Driver is one. Dude has consistently been one of the best receivers in the league for a long time, but hardly gets any press. I think he will this year as Rodgers is going to need a dependable target like Driver.
Our running game is going to step up this year for sure. We just inked a new contract with Grant who is super fresh.
I'm looking forward to this season. I'm going to one of the pre Season games at Lambaeu on the 28th.

One little Brett piece... He wanted to play with GB because he knew he could do great with that team and possibly make another run for a SB. I think he will do good with the Jets but they look like they are still rebuilding.
Ok, the Pack! I think they have a well built team and they finally have what looks like a keeper in Grant. I hope Rodgers comes through but he's going to have more scrutiny than Brett will so we'll see how that pans out. I hope nothing but good things for the Packers this year but I will be keeping my eye on the Jets now.

Lifetime fan of the New Orleans Saints, here.
I'm such a big fan, I was born hours before the game so that my dad could still go watch them lose.
Anyway, I've been with them every year, through the '87 dream season and the '91 CHA-CHING season, even thru the 'Aints years.
Anyway, I'm predicting three possible outcomes:
1. Losing streak until midway thru the season, then they pull a wildcard playoff bid out of their asses but don't go any further.
2. Winning streak until 2/3 thru the season, then losing streak all the rest of the way.
3. They go all the way.
I don't really care which one occurs, I'll still be rooting for them.

yeah. That Gates fumble made me punch children. The comeback was great but our defense just played horrible. I really think that Waters should start at ILB instead of Smith, who played about as bad as you can play as a pro. And the stadium was absolutely in SHOCK after the catch. I don't know.
Really and truthfully they have a hard time sealing the deal with getting to the end zone and if they play teams of the Chargers caliber and don't catch them on a bad day. That will be a serious problem.
I have been wrong before but I don't think they will make it past the 1st round of playoffs, if they even make it.

Cassell never started a game at SC so he'll start for the first time this weekend. He did back-up some good QB's so Pat's fans should hope he did his hw. He did pretty good after taking over when Bradey went down. Starting a fresh new game will be different.

At least our running backs looked good. Russell did ok... needs more protection, take a lil off zip on his deep ball and the receivers need to catch the rock.

He had NO control of his teams due to previous owners wanted all control. Norv was a GENIUS on the Cowboys as OC and is probably the smartest offensive mind in the NFL. If he lets AJ do his job and Teddy Cotrell do his job then the Chargers will be fine.

Last time I checked week 1 games still count, its not preseason game 5. Im a giants fan so of course im going to be bias in my predictions. That superstar offsense the Cowboys had last year didnt do jack in the final games of the season. Same outcome this year.
Colts lost to what was supposed to be an anemic Bears team. Honestly though, if the Colts can just get Peyton back into his rythm, it should be easy pickins for them against ANY AFC team. Steelers played against what was supposed to be good Houston defense and just rolled them. Denver with Cutler and that defense look like they can make a run.
It is Week 1, but the amount of "upsets" and injuries setup for an interesting year.

Usually injuries happen to players who arent considered "elite". This year players that define their respective franchises have all sustained some type of injury.
Brady out for season, Peyton still obviously recovering from surgery, Merriman out for year, Umeniyora out for the year.
Health plays an even more integral part to this seasons outcome because of the effects of losing high impact players resonate the entire year.

the surgery that manning had was actually quite stupid.
he had his infected bursa sac removed without going with antibiotics or other non invasive procedures first.
the bursa sac is what helps cushion your knee from wear and tear.

I gotta give props to Eli for winning the SB but what has he EVER done for the Gmen before last years playoffs? Shit, he looked horrid week 1 and the preseason too. He'll forever be a hero in NY but truth is he's not anywhere near a great QB, similar to Joe Namath.
And the Colts and Chargers aren't done. Both teams came out rusty. The Chargers looked very good in the second half except for the prevent defense and Peyton Manning is a creator of repetition. If he is not throwing 1000 balls a day then he is out of his element.
And trust me, the Broncos aren't doing anything this year. Don't overreact over a win against the RAIDERS.

MJD is a freaking beast. Love him in UCLA! The guy is like 5'4 205, that's compact as hell! He caught Merriman under the chin and Merriman looked VERY surprised that MJD was going full steam at him and caught him slippin. Great hit by MJD! But quite honestly that could have happened to a damn DT as fast as MJD was going, as low as he was, and how unprepared Merriman was for a full steam block it could have happened to ANYONE. Plus, Merriman treats 350lb OT's like his bitch, so if MJD tried that again I'm SURE Merriman would have more respect for him and it wouldn't happen again.

For as much that went wrong against the Chargers there was no reason the Broncos should have even been in that game in the end. A "equipment malfunction" on the instant replay that gave Denver the ball on the 25 and momentum for much of the first half. A phantom holding call on the Sproles run for a TD that they took away. And a fumble that was called an incomplete pass (are you fucking kidding me) because of an inadvertent whistle! Seriously, are you fucking kidding me. That was Denvers gift. Even though they played a marvelous offensive game but had no right to even be there in the end, let alone have the refs give the game to Denver at the end.

the seahawks were playing without their starting RB, top 3 WR, backup QB/WR, and lost another WR during the first quarter
Matt Hasselback had a bad back
Nolan's response?
Play nickel/time all game
Why?
Because we beat seattle two years ago with that setup

awesome game, usually MNF games end up really boring.
for my fantasy:
one league i won with 98 points, and another won i lost and i had 101 (other team had like 112, but he had marion barber and jason witten)

:-/ Yeah, it's been really hard watching the Seahawks struggle with their limited offense. Especially since our rookie TE is doing so good and Julius Jones is finally stepping up. But I have to admit, O'Sullivan actually looked really good against us.

Why are the Steelers up there? They beat the Texans and the Browns. They struggled with the Browns Sunday night. And the Bills and Broncos really down there... I dont get that.
Also all this talk and hype around the Eagles and Cowboys..... the offenses played great, but it isnt saying much cause both defenses played awful. It could just be that they really are that good, but I'm not sure yet.

WOOT! Scored me some Packers vs Cowboys tickets at face value for Sunday nights game!
They are both coming off big wins, so it should be a blast of a game.
I hope it doesn't rain like it usually does when I go.
I should be going to the Packers vs Bears game in Nov too.

well if he's hurt, he's hurt.....fucking Titans piece of shit cheapshotting mada fuckers! The problem I see is the push up the middle. The rush is there on the outside (not as much as when merriman was there though) but the QB is stepping up and having all day to throw the ball. Our zone defense has no chance unless we could get to the QB.

I think it's time for Kiffin to throw in the towel. That was some lousy ass play calling. They should have beat Buffalo, they're not that good. Need to let Russell throw the ball more.
And Miami spanks New England just as Joey Porter predicted. It was bound to happen...

Tomorrow night is time for the Chargers D to step up.
Cromartie wasn't 100% last week so he was getting burned and because of that he was saving touchdowns by creating penalties. Supposedly he 100% this week.
If any QB we should be able to make look like shit it's old Brett, he tends to get in the habit of throwing one pick, then another... then another haha.

well not only that but Big Mac is back, then Hardwick next week. If you thought our offense is scary good now, wait till you see when the 2 pro bowl linemen return.
But I agree, our D needs to step up. We have the personnel, we just have to tighten up. We'll still take the division by far though. Broncos are highly over rated right now

SOB! I'm so pissed at GB's play calling. WTF was McCarthy thinking? WHY DIDN'T WE PASS! Frustrating. I was at the game which was pretty awesome to be at.
However I must say out of the dozens of games I've been to in GB, against some of our biggest rivals like the Vikings, Bears etc, COWBOYS fans are the BIGGEST FUCKIN ASSHOLES I've ever seen. It's not even that they were that serious about the game, everywhere I looked they were getting escorted out by police and talkin shit. There was some big fat fuck right in front of me. Everyone was just like "DUDE SHUT YOUR FAT ASS UP AND SIT DOWN!" I seen another dude yelling at a half a dozen cops...right before they handcuffed him. Football is SERIOUS business in WI, but we are at least respectful to other teams fans. Seriously, that left a bad taste in my mouth about Cowboys fans. No respect.

HuH? I was in the impression that he doesnt do the play calls during the game?!?! Either way, I think he should keep his job. He's doing something as a coach that no coach in Oakland has been able to do in over 5 yrs. Have the players WANT to play for him. They respect him and try hard...

So the Chargers won... against the Jets. O lawd. Well Cromartie worries me. Last year the dude was a beast and yesterdays game when he interecpted it from Coles was really really good.
Regardless of what happens, a team from the NFC (B)East will be represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, and Redskins all won their games. Cowboys beat on what was supposed to be a even GB team. Eagles beat what was supposed to beat the best AFC team quite easily. The Giants beat a 'never say die' Bengals team. And the Redskins (who are supposed to be the "worst" NFC East team) beat the "best" NFC West team easily.
At this point, it sucks to be a Giants fan because this division is WAY too good, but it makes for some awesome football.
