my friend and i are currentley searching for the best exhaust for his s14 sr20... so far its between the kakimoto and the apexi noir... does anyone know any good ass exhausts? especially those rare jdm ones? he has a rsr right now and its pretty shitty. opinions and noise input would be great too!

Buddy Club Spec. 2
PROVEN to be the best exhaust for S14.

^^^ hehehe I actually have a brand new BC Spec 2 sitting in my garage, for sale. With the optional silencer. BH says it's the best.
Anyhow, I had the Apexi WS Noir on my S13, and while it's more expensive than having a similar setup custom made, it sounds great and is street-legal quiet. The 4.5" tip kind of gives it away though.

Not quiet by any means, but if you like big exhaust...This one's for you!

not sure about best exhaust system or nething. does it want something loud/quiet? try to search some names on youtube and maybe that would help you out. if your looking for something really good and inexpensive i would recommend GP sports and they sound great as hell to. you could pick a gp sports spec D for about $350-380 i think it was. 80M catback no resonator.

+1 for Apex'i GT Spec, loud under throttle, but quiet enough just cruising.
Ive had a Blitz nur spec, like those too. Currently running Buddy Clubs and theyre okay. Better than unknown exhaust that my car here had.

if not go buddy spec II hands down i wish i got that exhaust.. lol

If you're willing to fork over the cash I would go with the Blitz Nur Spec R cat-back. I've had mine for almost a year and a half and love it... It's a little loud, but you get used to it. It has 3" piping, a 4" tip, and it's angled so it looks good. I got mine for $520/shipped.

Ive had on my S14
My car, Tomei 270 cams, T04S turbo, 80mm downpipe and test pipe
Dart Izumi - No resonator, too fucking loud. I'd be legally deaf if I daily drove the car with that exhaust. It sounded badass though.
Buddy Club Spec II - Loved it but it the lack of muffler got attention from GOJ car inspectors.. Had to go
Kakimoto Mega N1 (gutted out completely) - 90mm piping is a plus..Drove the car for all of 3 minutes with it on.. Friend said it sounded bad in a non good way and compared it to a Civic with an Ebay muffler. The car back fired when being jumped and it was louder than a .50 cal being shot. The noticeable "my cams are too fucking big" idle sound my car made was gone and the exhaust was decently quiet at 2,000 RPM. I love it so far!
However if someone were to ask me what exhaust should they buy I'd have to say Fujitsubo Legalis Super R

I don't run the silencers, there is no need (I have it on a NA KA right now I'm sure it'll be even quieter when I get my SR in). The exhaust is SUPER deep toned and sounds amazing. I just wish it had a 3" main pipe...as it is made for a N/A SR.

Really. I've heard titanium vs. aluminum vs. stainless, all with the exact same sizing/volume/packing on bikes, and you can't tell a f*cking difference. They all even look the same, except for the hot parts (stainless turns a nice bronze color, alum turns dark grey, and ti turns the sexy blues).
Ti exhaust on a car is lame. Spend the money on a nice seat/wheel/turbo/date. Anything except a 10lb weight savings at the very bottom of the car.

HMMM ATTAIN 3.5" Titanium exhaust. Extraordinary flow. Im pretty sure close to the lightest you can get. and its only a 2 piece exhaust. no room for a cat on this beast lol. I have a pic of one I had on my fd but Im gonna have to dig it up.
you gotta be on baller status to get one tho.

I would say, get some badass titalium exhaust.
BUT, as was just stated, they are THIN as hell.

this is probably the best choiice for people looking for an instant upgrade over stock but doesn't want to fork over $500 for a BC or Apex unit. Pay for a inline muffler by Magnaflow and have a muffler shop bend up the piping. The problem with that for serious drivers is the bends.
Fujitsubo makes some very high quality and nice sounding exhaust.

Yea i love my legalis. It looks nice and sounds really nice with a deep tone. It is pretty quiet unless you step on it though. It sounds nice on my RB25. Fujitsubo is one of the few jasma approved exhaust companies, so the quality is really nice.

i got an 5zigen border 3 exhaust, 2.75" piping. it's on a ka24de nice deep tone and quiet when cruising only gets loud when you go wot. cops never give me a hassle and it's got a clean oem kinda look. that's why i got it for deep tone, looks great, and shiny yes very shiny =D. i know you got an sr20 but, the piping for sr20's is like 3" so the difference isn't all that much.
hope this helps you.

for stainless you could go Espelir. Just make sure you get the silencer (unless you have too much power for one) because it resonates at 2800-3000 rpm on a KA motor, and its SO FUCKING LOUD, your ears end up rining after about 20-30 mins of driving without the resonator.
really though almost EVERY big name brand is going to be good and tons of companies offer 3" + piping....or do the custom route...custom is what most of the honduh high power guys do around here anyway

I got it free from a friend who I used to work with. :keke: It was laying around his garage and had no need for it since he was running an HKS w/ his RB26DET.
No idea how he got it here though.
I did a side by side comparison with my stock exhaust and it was clearly not the same piping size. Didn't think to take any pictures, would have been great tho.
From the back it looks very much like the G35 sedan twin tip, single sided exhaust. (Not the newer body that's out now)
