With the popularity of Japanese seats would anyone seriously consider the LaJoie seat? I know the Nascar seat is around 4k but I don't know how much the drift seat is. The best part about this seat is it's built for your body with measurements and all. Nascar credited the LaJoie seat for saving the life of a driver a week ago after that HORRIFIC crash so that's why I snuck a peak. IMHO, this looks like one of the safest seats and best quality for our sport. I thought I might hear your opinion on this because I may end up tracking my 240 in a year or so and may end up selling my SPG.

It is true what he says in the article.
Not having to brace yourself with the stock seat you actually can concentrate more on your driving.
I know that when I drive other people's car that have stock seats it's such a pain in the ass.

the thing that I was impressed with them was that the seats allowed 0% flex in the shoulders and neck. That could only be done but the measurements. I've not heard of another seat that the maker actually takes measurements.

you do realize a seat that does not give transfers those forces directly to the user (internally). I 've been looking at these seats for over 2 years now. I'm curious as to once the seat has been ordered. will you get the super thick padding on the sides like how you see in the top tier sprint cup series.

I used to use my legs and knees to anchor myself,

It's drifting. Drifting isn't dangerous. If you hit a wall or another car, you'll be on the brakes and you'll be going slow. Get a seat that looks cool and feels good thats made by a brand name company and you'll be fine.

well, this brand makes Nascar seats that pro drivers actually use. The crash a week ago where he crashed over 200 mph and the guy walked away had a LaJoie seat in it. LaJoie actually was credited through Nascar that the seat and Hans device was the reason why he survived, that's why I checked out his site. It might be overkill but by no means is this seat not brand name.
I messaged them for pics and prices. I'll post what they say when I get the reply. :D

Waiting for aluminum seat bashers. My friend has one in his sprint car and loves it. Had a Kirkey before and this seat is of much better quality.
"oh, its gonna fold in half/bend/melt/etc."

Looks like they just threw "DRIFT" in the description of the same NASCAR seat so that they can make it seem cool and hip and market it to the import crowd.
I'm sure it's a good seat, though.

Yeah, looks like a great seat.
Doesn't mean it's worth the $1500 they'll probably ask for it. I don't know if Flybert was bein sarcastic or not, but the point is, 240s don't participate in dangerous activities... they're just not fast enough for the most part. If you have regular doors (with door bars), a decent bucket seat (properly installed), and seat belts/harness, you'll be fine.

yea, i would think a good bucket seat w/ harness will be pretty good. no doubt this thing is prolly awesome, but hopefully if i dont drive like an ass(at 200mph) i'll be ok.

buhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhh.
god you guys are fucking retarded.
Drifting is for looking cool, not going fast. Aluminum seats do not look cool.
Therefore, aluminum seats are not for drifting.

these seats are actually kick ass. i dont know if their is a difference between the circle track and drift seat, but i sat in the "drift" seat and it is amazing. custom made to order and these aluminum seats do LOOK BAD ASS!! how can a tubular braces TIG welded aluminum seat not look cool? and did you see the cloth cover options?!?!?
way out of most everyones price range though.

I believe that's 100% true. They are expensive but someone who intends to fully track their car it might be well worth it. It boils down to this: looks to performance. Sure, you could spend $1000 for a set of Sparcos and all your friends will say "wow. You got a Sparco!" or you could get something like this for a little more. It honestly just boils down to what you're looking for and how hard you're going to drive. If it's your daily driver then you should probably look elsewhere but if you legitimately are going to race it then something like this might be on the table. For me, my safety is my number 1 priority.
BTW, SPG as in Recaro.

True story. I've seen it slide around V.I.R. on numerous occasions. It's a beast of a car.
