That's what I did too, you don't need it.

Instead of cutting it off, pry it open a bit and slide it off. You don't really need it but you'll have to make a bracket if you're deadset on keeping it.

Yeah it seems pretty tight in the block unlike other cars I had that just slid out if the top of the dipstick wasn't bolted down.

Freaking OBX header interferes with the steering knuckle though, going to have to pull it to cleareance it. Tried to cut just the tip of the bolt off that passes through the lower bracket and that has the car at least drivable.

my obx header fit perfectly fine, sucks when there's no quality control, but at least they're cheap.

And since our cars have metal dipsticks you don't really have to worry about supporting it, it won't crack unless you bend it a bunch.

zip tie it to a hose. It will be fine and will not knock around.

Thanks I was more worried it pulling out of the block, my last two cars the dipstick just lightly popped into the block with o-rings relying on the top bolt to hold it from pulling out.

Have to take it in tomorrow anyway to have an exhaust stud retapped. broke off like butter taking it OFF. I am almost thinking it was already broke. When I have it at the shop I will have them clearance the header too. Sucks. I wanted a DC sports but no one had them in stock and they look like they are out of commission until late may or june during their reorganization.

theres always quality control on anything mass produced... less Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing = a cheaper part, but comes at the cost of lower quality parts

dont mean to be an asshole, just thought id say it... sorry OP for off topic tangent
