the whole metal assembly (minus the motor) is call the window regulator.

what do you mean by "crapping out" ?

does it stop working, roll up and down slowly? click when it's fully at the top?

Sounds like the amp, but if you said you replaced it, maybe u got a shitty one?

Try the amp again, but before that...

test the motor.

Get a booster pack, and 2 wires about 10" long (both ends stripped)

connect 1 to the NEG and 1 to the POS.

Then into your window motor plug, put the POS and NEG into any which way (one way will make it go UP and the other will make it go DOWN)

if that works, then you KNOW it's not the motor.

but odds are, your amp blew on you, if you search there was a thread called *$2 fix your window amp* or something similar with that name, check it out, it could help you out a lot!

And post back the results! I'm curious to know :)

My window wasn't rolling up or down too for a bit until I figured out what it was.

My Amp was shorting and actually sparking haha. I noticed at the solder points where crap. So I took it to work, re-soldered it and it's lovely now. :)

Yeah try buying a brand new amp and if you have a friend with a S14, try using his switches to rule out bad switches there.

My amp went bad a few years back, I replaced it with a junk yard amp, and it just went bad again a year later....moral of the story= some parts you have to buy new. Good Luck!!

well my window sh!ttd out on me also....my best guess would be check the relays cuz its hard as hell to find the window motors (and nissan charges about $450) for anew one :(

Ha and i just sold my driver side...sorry dude. Try going up to Nissan and see if teh part number for the motor is the same for anyother Nissan. Then look for that nissan at a scrap yard. Thats how i get most of my crap.

I haven't verified it yet because I don't have the time, but Z32 window motors look damn near the same. I have three S14s motors and two Z32s motors in a box awaiting a test fitment.

You can also upgrade to a 96-98 master switch and door harness if you're continuing to run through amplifiers and just repin the harness for the OE security. They're proven to be a better switch design.
