So the other day I was staring at the CS downpipe, which is basically a knockoff of the moonface downpipe and was wonderring why no one had continued the idea all the way back.

of course this would not be used on a SR or KA but for a RB as some of the exhausts made for those cars are anywhere from 85~95mm diameter

the downpipe is 150×63mm, so the idea was to cut the rear flange and use a slip on clamp system for the rest of the exhuast to be 90x63mm the rest of the way back

only problems or difficulties I see if trying to find a flexpipe with inlets being 3.5" and mocking up a resonator and muffler to work with the system.

Am I one of the few to run such an idea? is there any flaws to this setup?

comments please

are you thinking about this because of ground clearance issues?

i'm sure its doable, but i think the rear sway bar will cause some problems, since the bend isn't made for oval exhausts. just like those dual canister systems which split up after the resonator, most of them rub on the swaybar...

other than that, i think it would be nice to have an exhaust that doesnt scrape on the ground all the time ;)

Yeah, the car will be slammed as well.

I believe the rear sway wont be a HUGE issue, but I am still waiting on my tanabe sway to come in to double check, the height is only 63mm while your standard 240sx exhaust is 80mm.

hopefully an extra 15mm on the sides wont be an issue.

if your car is low
your exhaust will turn D shaped anyways haha
but for reals, burns stainless sells ovalized tubing
i was going to make a full 3in oval piped exhaust for my dad
but that shit is pricey!!

try it out chris and tell me how it works for u. i think the oval exhaust may fit easier than u think on the rear sway.

price shouldn't be an issue if you want to do things the right way
:)

hopefully I will be able to pick out the right muffler, just hard to find one with the inlet size.

I am sure for a fact that 80~85mm oval will work for sure when used on SR/KA cars

Then everyone can get low like they are dropped on bags... :keke:
