Which is the better body?
I want to know the personal thoughts and actually facts from everyone with an s13, doesn't matter what engine.
( Personally I like the trunk!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'> )

i like the hatch.. but im starting to like the coupe too.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> but i guess i would want a hatch before i get a coupe so i guess you can count me in for the hatch..
if you're lookin for a good handling car.. go for the coupe w/o sunroof.. glass sunroof and glass hatch offers more flexing than metal frame and a solid trunk which gives more structural integrity..

The coupe is slightly more rigid and 30lb lighter. Easy decision there. Not to mention hatches have water leakage issues around the taillights, rust-inducing foam spoilers on many, etc. etc.
I bought this hatch because it was convenient and mechanically perfect, but I wouldn't do it again. If I ever buy another S13 it'll be a coupe.

#1 was a coupe and like iv'e heard said <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> it looks very R32. But 89 must have not been that great a year. Sohc and all, and so I got a 91 hatch that blows my mind. Buuttt. If I "had a dream" it would be a silvia stroker 240bodied SR2.2 powered DET dream. Yeah I vote trunked S13 with Silvia Reflector Headlights. Engine be damned. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':devil:'>

Well the hatchback does rattle a bit and the sunroof is lame, but it's so much more usefull. I can cram so much stuff in it (like a 27" sony Wega for example). Both styles appeal to me. The coupe looks tough, but the hatchback with some 180sx tailaights is so damn cool too.
If you have little to carry go for the coupe, if you like having the usefulness of a sizable truck, get a fastback.

The black hb looks incomplete without the rear bumper skirt. The car looks real nice until your eye hits the rear and just looks like its missing something. I currently own both, and to tell the truth, I like driving my Coupe more. It just feels better for some reason, but my Fastback was my first RWD car, so it has a special place <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>.
As it sits now, it's a tie..... but once the k00p gets the SR20DET and the Silvia conversion, my vote goes to my k00p.

i'd have to say hatchback.. they're so dang sexy! the coupes don't have the curves of those rear fenders that i so lovingly gaze at while getting gas all the time. coupes are nice and sleek.. but don't look quite right unless they have the S13 front end conversion done. i've also found that you can both eat, sleep, and hang out in the hatch. can you say that about coupes? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Ok ya but there are two camps at Nissan one is the Skyline camp and the other is the Fairlady Z Camp. The Fairlady was considered the premier sports car of the company until the R32 GTR.
The Skyline cannot be compared technically to a Silvia coupe for one main reason . In its GTR form its AWD completely different beast.
Now lets get back to the Fastback it has a lower drag coefficent than either the S13 coupe or the S14(this is probably going to rile hippo, hehehe). That is a very important feature in a sports car of modern design.
once again I state I like all the cars even the S14 I am not biased against anyone like some people on this forum.
I just feel from a sports car sense the S13 Fastback is the shiznit.

and this....
http://www.autotoys.com/New_Tech/Cust_Installs/kop/probe1.JPG
That's all I have to say about that. The only thing I want to add is that coupes have nicer lines when paired with the Silvia front (the way it was meant to be)...but the fastback in its USDM form is more concinnuous (look it up).

The perved out ford probe. The hatch is so damn close, almost makes me gag.
But for real, there are absoulutely no curves on the old preludes. I have a coupe half stripped sitting on blocks with the 180(early) nose on it, and it still manages some definite curves. When lowered it looks almost like a flattened elongated Rx-7. The coupe body just looks more mean, The hatch, especially with the tail lights, comes off as almost pedestrian. the coupe also is easier to see out the back window. I ts almost right there inyoou face compared to the length of the coupes. I just like that notched back look of the coupe.

sedan= 4 doors
I don't think there was ever a sport sedan version of the 240. Well, unless you consider camppain's custom 4 door ride with a transverse fwd sr20de usdm swap, and a 4x100 lug conversion.
More tidbits.
Coupe= stiffer and lighter
Fastback= a bit more aerodynamic and stable at speed
Looks are subjective. I have coupe days and hatch days.

Why are you comparing a 180sx to a RED "X" <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'></td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
That red X is actually a link to a Z32TT...black.
Actually, though, the Z from that side looks a lot like a Lotus.
