searched and found nothing like this... posting it for a friend of mine whos s14 brakelights dont seem to turn off for some strange reason, even when the car is off the brakelights are still on, ive dealt with brake lights not working from shortage on my s13 but nothing where they stay on and never turning off, tryed pumping the pedal to see if it was stuck but no luck.... anyone had this happen before? any help would be appreciated

happened to my sisters car (jetta though). check the brake pedal.... further up.... see if the contact pin is stuck. check for play. try pulling it out and pushing it.

that's your best guess unless the wire is crossed somewhere.

Its doing that on my car right now. It drained my battery. For now, I have to unplug my brake light wiring... What happened is, there's a little rubber piece on your brake pedal. Well that little piece pushes down on a switch when the pedal is not being touched. When the switch is pushed in, the lights are not on. When that little piece falls out, the switch is always open, leaving your lights on. Try super gluing a quarter to that part.
