View Full Version : I got water in my car
I got water in my car and its not coming from any of the seals "windows exc. Only the rear drivers side is seaping with water. This only happens when I drive in the rain. I check it today and there was a puddle of water in it. My question is....Is there any holes on the chassie uderneath that could be uncovered. Any tips advice would be helpfull..
also My motor is makeing a sound like a baseball card is hitting the spoaks on a bike. I think I read someone saying they get the same kind of sound when they need to change the oil, I need to change it anyway so Ill see if that works. It sounds like a loose rocker arm or something.
Thanks

there's drain plugs in the floor.
do you have a sunroof? there's a sunroof drain line that might be leaking.
My seatbelt is wet sometimes, i haven't got around to figuring that out.
no sunroof, I remember looking underneath and I think I saw a plug like that but if thats what it is, where would I get a plug and would I have to rip the carpet up to put it in
get under the car and look for holes? its not that hard.
you would have to take up the carpet to put a plug in, but its not hard.
are you SURE its not leaking from the door?
yeah pretty sure cuz the only thing thats wet is the back seat carpet, it had a puddle back there. to take the carpet up do I have to take the seat out?

go throught a car wash. look where water is coming in(windows).
I went through the car wash today in my buddys mustang, and got sprayed with water cause his window doesn't seal.

^^ also gut your interior before, makes it easier to find the leak
well im pretty sure its coming from underneath, im gonna get under there tommorw and see if I can see anything. Ive checked before but this time im gonna put it on jack stands so I can see more. I hope its an easy fix cuz I sure as hell dont want mold in my car.

If its an s13 hatch, its leaking from the hatch. I get water right behind the Driver seat. it leaks in from the hatch and makes its way down somehow dammit

if its from the hatch then it might be from the hatch strut holes... i noticed water dropping from my rear seatbelts before.

more likely the noise is an exhaust leak at the manifold. Look for any soot building up around the manifold gaskets.
