I drove a V8 Tahoe over the weekend. Lots of power, very very soft ride, smooth, numb to the road, and soft steering.

Then I got into my 240sx today. It felt as if the ride was much rougher, like it was connected to the road, the steering was stiff, and you could feel alot through the wheel.

Was it just me (or my car) or does the 240sx have a much more "driver oriented" steering system? Is this normal for a "sports car."

i used to drive a 87 legend at it was great. It stuck to the road when driven hard, had wonderful acceleration uphill or from a stand stll, but had really light and feathery steering which was sometimes a turnoff.

Now since i'm driving a s13 i'm basically where you're at. The steering is more responsive to my movement and god do i feel just about every thing on the road.... the 240sx has my vote for a "driver oriented" steering.

Absolutely!  Steering feel is engineered into the car via: steering gear ratio, ps fluid pressure, caster, toe, bushing material.

You think the 240SX feels solid, try disconnecting the power steering and get some pillowball TC rods with caster adjustment. &nbsp; You'll feel every speck of dust on the road <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I'm surprised to hear the Legend had light steering, the Hondas I've driven had nice positive steering feel.
