so i rigged up my own oil cooler setup and b/c i'm up here in canada i'm using a thermostat. it's a b&m and it came with its own fittings BUT the are leaking from the threads. what should i use to creat a better seal. must be able to handle heat and oil obviously.

teflon tape should work, but you shouldn't hafta use anything extra to seal the threads. i'd disassemble it and thoroughly inspect all the threads first.

what kind of fittings? most fittings in that type of system seal at the seat, not the threads. just torque them down more.

they do not seal at the seat, and they already have teflon tape on them but they are still leaking. its a really slow leak but after 30 mins of running it starts to drip.
check the fittings. put new teflon tape and try agian.

while you're putting the new tape on, go ahead and put some extra on as well since its apparent the current amount isnt helping

Use teflon paste instead of tape. It is able to work its way into the threads better than the tape. Plus the tape usually rips and tears when you thread the fitting in. Hope that works because that is what I used on mine but I haven't started the engine this year yet.
If you've used teflon, and it's still leaking, I'd look into making sure you have the right size fittings.
