Been a while since I posted here...and I searched some. Looking for best quality 5 lug conversion for s13..
Here's what I found:
Ichiba = questionable Bearing reliability: $420
S5 - uses OEM bearings F+R: $430-$450 (no downsides?)
Attain around $500 and have some zinc coating.
So I'm considering the S5 due to price and OEM bearings...good choice?
TIA

ichibia has lasted a year so far for me and if the bearing ever fails just press in a new oem 1 i think the ichibias also has a 1 yr warranty
so i say ichibia front z32/s14 rear

im thinkn about just keeping the 4 lug? how big of an advantage r u getting out of 1 more lug? more wheel choices?
if u got the time and the $ its worth it i guess. i planned on doing S14 conversion with q45 brakes.

I use front S5 and Z32 TT Rear hubs, works fine for me no problem.
im in the same boat brotha, to me just gettin better wheel choice isn't worth it. Hell im lookin at like 3 grand it seems like just to do the 5 lug conversions so I can get some rims tires and Z brakes. I don't think its that much but its proably pretty close. I figre I would look for 4 lugs and see if they have one that covers the lugs that looks nice. I hate the way the 4 lug wheel looks on there tho. If I had a lot of money I would in a heart beat, but then again if I had a lot of money I would probably be driving something eles.

I mean 3g after you buy the conversion + new rims + new tires + new brakes. You can spend 3g easy on all that stuff. You could do all that for 2g im sure. but just the 5 lug yea 500, still too much in my opion, then you got rotors, and everything eles it just adds up thats all

I have not had one problem with my S5 and Ichiba setup, I am not positive but I believe they are manufactured by the same place. They have the same verbage on both sites describing the hubs. Plus when I bought my S5 conversion 2 of them were S5 stamped and the other 2 were Ichiba stamped, both use OEM style bearings so you can just buy Nissan bearings to replace them if they ever go bad.

I don't have 5 lug hubs but from my research this is what I've been able to gather so far.
S5/Ichiba: Apparently manufactured at the same place. Supposedly the "OEM style" bearings have gone bad and the studs on these units lack quality. This is the cheapest option for 5 lug conversions.
Circuit Sports: A little more expensive. A second generation unit was just released that has an improved hub and wheel studs. I haven't heard too much about these units, but for about $50 more than the Ichiba/S5 set they look like a better quality unit. But looks can be deceiving...
Peak Performance: PP has two 5 lug hub versions out. A "street" version and a "pro" version. I've heard bad things about the street version experiencing similar problems as the Ichiba/S5 hubs, though the "pro" version is supposed to be a quality unit using OEM bearings and extended wheel studs. The pro version is obviously more expensive.
Attain/GTO: The most expensive option as far as I've been able to gather. ~$500 for just the front hubs. But apparently they're the best quality unit out there. These hubs use OEM bearings.
Hope that helps.
Good Luck!

I can't get myself to spend the $$$ for the front hubs right now. Maybe later on but for now I have 4 lugs in the front and Z32 5 lugs in the back and I'm happy. It's not bad because I'm rockin' FN's so I have the 17x10+12 in the rear and 17x9+20 in the front. The 5 lug 17x9 is +15 so I'm only off by +5j. Spacers took care of that.
I'm close to doing the Z32 brake upgrade and all I would have to do is drill the rotors for 4lug and be good to go. If I get around to the front conversion I'll just use OEM esp if you get more angle from the S14 LCA's.
Good info in here.

the advantage of going 5 lug is more wheel choices
4 lug wheels choices are pretty restricted with the majority of them being high offset, shitty sizes, or both :P but you can find some good ones
I just bought some 5 lug hubs from HP Autoworks
$400
Nissan OEM front hubs
Ichiba Rears ( was supposed to get OEM but this is what I received )
I don't mind taking pictures to compare the two OEM ( fronts ) vs Ichiba ( rears )

I have a pair of Peak and a pair of Attain. The Attain are currently on my car. AFAIK, the Peak use OEM bearings as do Attain. I plan on keeping them as a backup because of ongoing clearance problems between my LCAs and my brake rotors and the interference's effect on the wheel bearings.
Rear should be S14 because it's easy and cheap, even for the new parts from Nissan.
They'll probably all work. They'll all probably work for at least a year. They'll probably all work for most people for a long time. However, the cheaper imports don't have the quality control of the others, and do you really want to risk it?
