allright so i baught the b magic rear wide body quarters for my 89 coupe. they fit real nice except for by the gas door. in between the actual car and the widebody is about a half inch gap. has anyone else had this problem with these. and can anyone think of a way to bring it in towrds the car some more? thanks

that is totally fine. I think that gas filler location should be your last concern.
usually people have fitment issues around the edges that make it such a pain to get them to look clean. you can relocate the filler opening on the fender really easily, chop, cut, splice, glass it in, sand it, done.
or you can move the fender around and get the filler opening perfect and then you might have 3 other problems ;)
good luck hard to suggest fixes without seeing pics.

do you plan to cut the stock fender or did you already do that? cant see much from the angles but it kinda looks funny. did you try streching the fenders so they fit tighter onto the body which will most likely fix your problem? just a thought! good luck

Wow looks like you didnt cut the fenders at all. I see you were going for the Ultra-Sunk look.

why do people think a widebody is just simply putting on the over fender....cut fender PLEASE everything else looks legit

that was a test fit for the wide body. i wanted to get it all done and everything in place to see how it fit. i do plan on cuttin the stock quarters tho. but what should i do about around the gas door? with that gap...
you're doing it wrong
you've got the fenders on bowed out which is why it doesnt line up
get your wheels first and fit fenders based on that

like everyone said you need to cut the qem quarter panels in order to make use of the wider bmagic panels... the gap your talkin about in the gas door area is normal and not important... what is important is the fitment around the edges of the panel to the body.

it fits real good around all the edges on both sides. but like i said the only problem im having with them is around the gas door with the gap. thats normal with these??? if so il just leave it, but i thaught it just doesnt look right like that.
and... I AM CUTTING THE STOCK QUARTERS OUT FOR THE WIDEBODY!!!

If you're just test fitting, why aren't your actual wheels on? You put wheels on the car first... THEN put the widebody on for proper fitment. You don't just throw 50 mil fenders on the car and try to guess what size wheels to order.

ok. so lets get back to my question and the whole reason for this thread. i dont wanna hear anymore about how the body should be cut or about my wheels. i just wanna kno how i can get the gap takin care of.

you can get a gas door cover that brings the filler door out to be flush with widebody...

the way you have 'em is fine.
that gap is easy, you can fiberglass it or rivet some sheetmetal to fill it in, whatever works for you.
the best way to do overfenders is to buy wheels, fit them to the car, then work the fenders so they clear just the way you want them too. but you are on the right track at least, you can run some nice wide wheels out back after you cut the 1/4 panel.

How are you test fitting them? It looks like you already put the rivets on them. Admit it, you screwed up and now the whole community of Zilvia are point their fingers at you and saying that you're doing it wrong.

ummmm no those are just screws, that will take about a total of 2 minutes to pull all out on both sides. ic there was a few people that did give me some suggestions on how to fix my problems and i thank you for that. and everyone else this is for you... :fawk:
don't be mad because you're not doing it right..just learn and fix it

i wanna kno how im not doin it right? cause i havnt cut the body yet? as i said above i do plan on doin it. cause i havnt put wheels on it? yes i kno this and i could always adjust it later on when i get wheels. i guess i just dont understand. maybe its just you guys hatein on the newbs???
the fender isn't lined up properly...if it was, that gap wouldn't be there.
also, you shouldn't be putting the fenders on if you don't have the wheels to put under them
it sounds to me like you're being impatient and putting themo on for no good reason

I actualy installed my 50mm wide fenders about 2 weeks ago and after cutting my quarter panels out and test fitting the fender i also have a little bit of a gap there! And this is with a buddy pushing in on the gap while i lined up the buddy lines. I actualy spent too much time on doing this and said fuck it!!! Ill just fill in the 1/4 inch gap
i've installed these fenders on a coupe personally, on my own S14 and then helped w/ another coupe....each and every time, there was no gap there

Maybe your just a fiberglass wizard! LOL! I did 3 wide fender installs over the winter with my buds. My friend and myself(b-magic also) with 50mm both had a gap but my buddy with the 30mm's had none.

hey im happy to hear that im not the only one then.
Like Ian said, the reason you have a gap is because your fender is bowed out.
Try mounting the leading edge farther forward.
It will pull the panel flatter against the body.
