...and I need a tire shop in Brooklyn or Queens that isn't afraid to mount them. I went to my regular guy and he doesn't want to do it. Someone in New York help me out.

215/45 on 17x9
225/45 on 17x10

I don't really want to flame them.

Go to a performance shop, they're usually more willing to do it than regular tire places.

Got them mounted and of course now my 17x9 +20 is touching the front coilover. Ughhh... now I have to order spacers. I'm thinking 15mm if I'm wrong stop me now.

+5mm spacer should be enough.

Depending on the coilovers.

Check to see how much clearance you have.

Or just get a 10mm to be safe.

Or just order (4) 5 mm spacers.

or just go to a pep boys or something or a dub shop, they usually have slip on spacers for sale. Thats all you should need.

^^Why didn't I think of that?:duh:

I was gonna order some and wait almost a week for them. I'll head out to the store in the morning. Thanks guys. I was thinking 5mm might be enough.

Check to see how much clearance you have.

The inner lip of the rim is just resting on the spring of the coilover. It looks like 5mm would do it but I hear you should have at least 4mm of space as a safety net.

i dont really think you need a safety net, they are metal components so they should be fine. i have had very close clearnace without ever having issues. that said, theyre really quite cheap anyway for slip-ons so get some 5s, and if they fail go up to 8s :P

Went to Pep Boys and got the 1/4" spacers (6.35mm) for $17 and threw them on. Got the clearance I need after tweaking the suspension a bit. Thanks for all the help.

Tomorrow I'll make some more adjustments. Really I'm trying to figure out why my Teins arent dropping me onto the tire. There's only three threads left under the spring perch and I still have two fingers of wheel gap:nono:

that second pic looks like alot of positive camber, time for alignment

you guys ever replace the studs w/ like steel ones when you use spacers? idk something about loosing the support of that ring around the hub doesn't sit right w/ me, i think you know what I'm talking about... I know I know I'm crazy technical terms on this post (e-sarcasm)

aren't wheel studs all steel?

and you're talking about hubcentric rings and what not right?

there are plenty of hubcentric spacers.

is that really the lowest you can go on your coils? even my piece of shit GAB's let me tuck tires.

well I thought you would need a stronger/longer studs when you used spacers since your adding more stress to the oem studs, figuring Nissan would only give you the quality of metal you'd need w/ the hub in mind, from the spacers I've randomly seen I've never seen hub centric rings on them, not like i go looking for them, so rather then start another thread I'd just ask about the safety of them here

just keep an eye on ur lug nuts, non hubcentric spacers have a tendency to get loose after a while, just retorque them every so often

i personally would just go ahead n get extended studs, they are plenty strong, this way ur running a safe # of threads with your slip on spacer still on

Yeah I just got these $17 spacers to see what mm I needed to clear my coils. I will be ordering hub-centric spacers and extended studs soon.

As for the Teins I don't know WTF is going on with them but I'll try to figure it out tomorrow cause I know I should be able to tuck with them. I'm really not happy with the height now.

You can drop collars off the coils, and I don't know how the lower bracket on tein's is, you might be able to flip it upside down to get more lower.

Def look into those options in the AM.

is it just me or is those rims just a little bit to small...personaly I like the low profile look, just not too extreme.

hotlavaflow
04-10-2008, 07:38 PM
I dropped them all the way down and I have 1.5 finger gap. The lower bracket is solid on these so no flipping. Tomorrow I will drop the lower collar and get that extra .5" and work with that.

I'm thinking at this point if I'm still not happy with the height then when I get some more $$$ I'll just get some fender flares and then get the hub centric spacers to match up.

Hate my driveway the front lip already scrapes.

do you have camber plates?

04-10-2008, 11:10 PM
do you have camber plates?that what i was going to say from the looks yes, get right of the positve camber and it will lower you fender gap

hotlavaflow

Yep I dialed in the camber yesterday and that did help.
