Does it sound right, if the elise was in the front at a stoplight, the 240sx (sr'ed at 15psi) was behind, took off hit immediatly hit the onramp (sharp right turn curve) to the highway and the 240 starts to overtake the elise at around 100 mph?

Not really a realistic question and there's too many factors missing to make ONE answer, basically everyone is just gonna talk shit to you. Enjoy

It's possible. Elise are very light car with 189hp toyota engine. While it does have the acceleration. stock SR on high boost should be able to catch up if not win.

i don't know shit about sr's but if you have more horsepower you would probably catch up around 100 or so as wind resistance becomes more of a factor than weight.

It's possible for a stock miata to beat an f1 car.
The driver is the biggest deciding factor.

Well, its just say, it HAS happened for a fact. Being an eye witness to the fact. BTW,, the 240's turbo is stock (T28). Z32 Maf, Large injectors, ECU tune,, and a few other things. Lets just say its pretty fast.

it all depends on the driver
im sure theres plenty of people on this forum that can smoke lambo's, or evo's, or whatever on a road course
its all about skillzzz:rawk:

A built sr should have no problem beating an elise as far as straight line acceleration. Shit at my last track day at big willow I was faster than my buddy in his elise and I have a stock, 180k, KADE, and a crapload of suspension and wheel/tire mods.

Well first off the T28 is only stock on the S14 SR and s15 SR.
So unless the car has a S14SR thats not stock. Second off he has upgraded injectors a ECU tune and a Z32 maf. Which means at 15 psi he should be hitting somewhere in the range of 300whp.
Now given the 240sx weighing in at 2750 your basically looking at slightly over 100 whp per 1000 lbs. The Elise tips the scales at just slightly over 2000lbs so with a 189hp engine figure its dropping 140-150 whp or basically 70-75whp per 1000lbs . This basically means the of course the SR powered 240sx you mentioned will beat the Elise in acceleration.
The question is what about the corners? The Elise should hand the 240sx its ass in the corners unless the 240sx has some dope ass suspension and a good driver.
Now interestingly enough the last Super Cars Exposed pitted a Porsche 997 vs a Ferrari 430 and Lotus Exige aka hardtop Elise. The closed off Mullholland and ran the cars up and down it. The Exige had the best downhill times. Though it struck me as funny because I do not consider a Elise or a Exige a Super Car. Badass? yes! Super? No. Anyways. Given the factors your post is not surprising.

the exige isn't just a hardtop elise, it doesn't share any body panels for one, it generates 40+ pounds of down force on all corners and has a slightly modded engine (just a rom style tune I think)

Hmmm, they look the same. Well I am not expert on the Elise/Exige.
None the less it still does not make it a Supercar in my book. I also feel even at 40k they are on the expensive side for what they are, which is still not Super Car pricing either.

true that but i did once beat a little girl on a tricycle......seriously she was doing some big wheel burnouts but i ended up catching up to her at about 1mph
Seriously?? tell me when you get your car under 10's at the track then tell us about fast cars considering lotus elises do low 13's :keke: light as shit and they look cool but they are not fast next thing you will tell us about the time you smoked a mustang and then a porsche boxter??

lol,, well, I did smoke a "suped up" brand new mustang GT, but that wasn't too much of a challange.
I ask this because I am trying to get a baseline of about how much HP is being put to the ground. In Utah, and its hard has hell to find a dyno here that either A) requires almost a month in advance, or B) its BROKEN, and they are not sure when it will get fixed.
I'm not a big fan of "street racing" either, ok,, so I've seen a bit over 100 on the highway once every blue moon, but the all out racing on the road is a serious risk, (both in safety and the ticket/jail time, you might get).

You realize that was a cartoon. While the premise is the same as what the OP is talking about, the events didn't actually happen in real life. :keke:
These kind of threads are so lame. There's so many factors involved to just come out ans ask, can this car beat this car is pointless. Not to mention you're talking about even more gay street racing.
