hi, recently my windshiled washer stopped working.
wiper is working fine but it's not shooting the washer anymore. and yes there is liquid. just not shooting.
im very far from being a mechanic, but i would like to know if there's a motor for the washer or the pump? i don't know which one is the right term but if there is, where is it located? the car is 97 240sx 5 speed. thank you.

There are one or two tiny motors embeded on the side of the washer fluid reservoir, depending if you have a rear wiper or not. Your motors might have died or probably have rusted out which is highly likely since those rust easily. Washer fluid lines might also be plugged up with debris. Or the electric lines for the motors might be out, which I highly doubt.

Washer pump is located on the bottom side of the reservoir. They do go bad from battery corrosion dripping down on top of it. You also may just have clogged nozzles, if someone before you has waxed the car a lot and not done a good job, the residual wax buildup will cover up the openings, the pump doesn't have enough pressure to unclog them.

Bingo.
Have had this problem on 4 of the 5 used 240s I've bought over the years. :p
Or you might have damaged the wire connector to the reservior motor by road debris, kinda hard to do since its on the back of the tank, but possible. I seen weirder things happen.
