OEM Hood Weight = ?

How much?  I'm trying to ship a hood and would like to know the exact weight.  Also, so I can compare the OEM to carbon fiber.

My 97 oem weighs 47lbs and my carbon fiber weighs about 16.5lbs.

Ya our S14 hoods are pretty heavy compared to others...as well as S13's.  47lbs more or less sounds about right.

jskim9, how is your CF hood quality wise.  Where did you purchase yours and for how much. Considering a front end swap on my 95 and looking at my options.

whoa so they really are that heavy? i always thought that my hood was a cheap imitiation aftermarket hood beucase my car was hit twice in the front before i thought it, and when i look for the specs of the timing marks, it wasn't on it. but damn~! 43 lbs!! thats like a tire right there.

yea.. my fastback hood is freakin heavy.. i dont know how heavy but definitely twice as much as my dad's civic's hood.. lol
