91 S13 hatch
so yea....i been thinking about painting my car and upon thoroughly checking out my car i noticed that the roof of the car is kind of soft and wrinkled. What i mean by soft/wrinkled is that i can push down on my roof and i bends, of course it will bend under pressure but i dont have to apply much force. Along the sides of the roof it has like dimples on it.
For example, when you put sheets on your bed and you tuck whats left hanging off the bed under the bed the sheet lies flat and smooth. If you dont tuck the sheet under the bed tight enough the sheets look loose. Well thats what my roof looks like!:tweak:
Anyone ever seen anything like that or know how i can get rid of that looseness? i would like to have a completely smooth car when i go for prepping for paint. Any help, inputs, advice is appriciated. thanks
s13 or s14?
I have a s14 slicktop... no problems like that

....do you have a convertible? wtf are you talking about?
if you ARE talking about a convertible, the tops get loose and shitty over time. my m30's top was loose and billowy. total piece.

Ummm, It'll take some work, but you could heat shrink it with a torch... then repaint it... Here's a video:

yeah, its the rapid cooling of the metal that will cause it to shrink up some

this is the craziest sh!t i've heard all night...And believe me...I've already heard some sh!t!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dry ice has proved to have many uses in the Silvia world...what the hell. maybe it would provide the rapid cooling needed to tighten that bitch up

Haha, I don't think that will work by itself, you need to make the metal pliable first.
