Dumb question but how often should one change theoil back there. The car in questions does daily driving duties and an autocross event or 2 a month? Thanks if someone can answer that for me please excuse the threadjacking.

Since the viscous fluid is in a sealed unit, what oil you run doesn't really affect performance whatsoever. Just use whatever you would use in a stock open diff.
To altalti:
I think the fsm says. I change mine around every 15-20k miles. This is probably much sooner than neccesary as the oil always comes out very clean, but the car is becoming more and more of a track only car so it gets driven pretty hard.
Of course both of these statements are only true for viscous/open/helical diffs. Clutch diffs need frequent oil changes.

redline 80w90
I don't even think this exists unless you are referring to the MT-90, which is a GL-4 oil designed for nissan transmissions or similar transmissions. Redline doesn't sell just a straight 80w90 that I have seen...Just 75W90 and 75W90ns(which I reccomend for the s15 hlsd)

This is true, use something that's cheap.
I picked up a gallon of 75w-90 gear oil for $12
