i dont think that its mandatory...., but why wouldn't you do it??? it has a higher capacity and puts out more pressure...

Its only like $135 new and you really feel the full benefit, I think it should be a must but I guess it's mandatory.

I don't if this relates on the S14 but I remember that on the S13 you would be fine with a BMC from an automatic car which is comparable to the Z31 BMC. This only applies to front brake upgrades only.

ok well one of the reasons why i havent gotten it is due to kinda short on cash at the moment and i have all the other stuff... 30mm cast iron calipers, brand new rotors. and new brake pads coming in tomorrow oh and a tokico bmc

That's $135 you can spend somewhere else. As long as your S13/S14 booster is working fine don't mess with it. The real deciding factor for the braking power is the MC not the booster. As for the differences in booster size, simply adjust the brake pedal travel at the adjusting rod and you should be able to get the brakes to engage rather close to the top (about 1/2" to 1" is good)

The difference in boosters in relation to pedal stiffness is minimal, unless you're a wimp. Shoot I would be more worried about my clutch pedal stiffness than the brake pedal.
