hey guys wats up.
ok so to make the story short i have a problem.

i have an 89 240 i just bought about a month ago, i am doing a 95 DE swap.
but the CHASSIE harness (the one with the two fuse boxes and goes into the interior) is cut up..
so i got a 5-speed engine harness and ecu.. ive been looking for a 5-speed DE chassie harness for about a month now and i havnt found crap.. all i find is either single cam or DE AUTO..
many people told me i CAN use the DE AUTO chassie harness just that a couple things might not work but the car will run fine. and then i have people telling me that NO IT WONT WORK i have to use the DE 5-SPEED chassie harness..
so i dont know who to belive.. have any of you guys had any experience with this or have any knowledge about this..
PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUYS!
thank you!

so just to clarify, its the chassis harness, not the lower engine harness that you're wondering about, correct?

Either way, both should work. No matter if they were off the KA24E or KA24DE chassis. The chassis harness should be the same (or close to it if not dead on) and the only thing that matters with the lower harness (as far as the s13 is concerned) is weather its auto or manual.

hope this helps you out.

lower engine harness? i didnt know theres was lower and upper

its the harness that goes to the headlights, the 2 fuse boxes in the engine then it goes into the interior connects to some connector that is underneeth the dash in the driver side and then it goes up to the steering wheel rack. for the turn signals etc.

ok thats the chassis harness. the lower harness is what plugs into the alt., starter, and tranny sensors and connects to the plugs coming out of the left hand (when looking at the engine) fuse box. The chassis harness should work.

actually...that I took that picture out of a Factory wiring diagram book I got from a friend who works at the dealership, they were never for sale. If you want, I can PM you a list of where each plug goes, what it does, etc.
