anyone running tanabe rear strut tower bar? I've been searching online for a pix but no luck. I just want to see how it would mount into the S14 b/c there are two kind. One pop up the rear deck (I don't like) and another kind where they're under the rear deck somehow (I like). So I just want to see which kind is the tanabe bar. Thanks

Tanabe makes one that goes over.

Get a Cusco style. It sits under the deck. I'd post a pic of mine, but my car is... well.. a mess.

pretty much all the no brand/ebay rear strut tower bars are under the deck. I like my jic magic rear strut bar that goes over the deck. So many people ask me what the hell it is.....I tell them its a oh-shit bar.

I think I heard somewhere that rear-strut bars can stiffen the rear up to the point where the rear windshield can crack pretty easily, due to the lack of compliance.
Anyone else heard of this?

I highly doubt that stiffening up the chassis would break the rear glass. That would mean people with whole roll cages would be even worse. Whoever told you that is retarded.

LOL good point, I guess this is kinda goofy, but at the same time, the rear strut bar does increase rigidity in a spot closer to the rear windshield.
It wasn't 1 person that told me, I could've sworn I read it somewhere....let me see if I can find it.

There are cages that I have seen built on s14's that go around the rear window and even weld into that rear deck.
Seriously though, I dont see increasing rigidity in the rear cracking the window in a million years. Its quite impossible.

If anything it has a better chance of breaking w/o an type of rear bracing due to more chassis flex right?
BTW That JIC Bar looks nice

Give that man a cracker. There is no amount of rigidity that will increase the chance of breaking a window. The more, the better.
