I agree. they wouldn't look good on oem exterior but with a nice kit and nice color they would look pretty nice and pretty unique.

imo, they look ok on either a car with a full kit, super clean paint, etc (more towards a show car) or a full drift/track only car. not so good on lightly modded street cars.

And i could come up with a bunch of ways I would personally spend $1200 on things other than headlights.

I think $1200 could go to something else. That's a lot of money. Oh and yes I do like them but the price is just offensive.

I know 3 different people who did that modification and all of them hated it. People do it cuz there's this pictures with two s13s with that headlights, but in real world. They don't fit well and light output is just terrible.

hotlavaflow

Probably priced like that because they are D.O.T. Approved HID Driving lights and not just HID fog lights (I'm guessing). IDK You could buy the covers and just throw a pair of these in there or something like them.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95058

Personally I'd throw $1200 at some coils, JDM madd-tyte wheels, pistons and rods, turbo upgrade..... I digress.

like most people said, if your car can pull it off it's all good. just don't get these lights and add it to a stock body 240sx. then it would really be a waste of money, knowing that the $$$ could've went to something else.

No, people who worry so much about what others think ruin the tuning scene.

why not just fab something up yourself?

1200 is a LOT of money

whiterps13
03-21-2008, 08:03 PM
For like $600 you could retrofit some -real- HID projectors in a badass custom housing.

Then take the $600 you saved, get it all in dollar bills, and go show off your new headlights at the strip club. You might actually be able to see at night too!

wisDOMination

i love them
go with the supermade kit, or the race on knock off's
i was planning on going with the race on knock off's
but changed my mind and planned on fabbing one out myself

go ahead, be a hater cause my shit is gonna be a "knock off" and not the "real deal". at least i can say i have the skills to fab one myself, which are skills YOU probably wont have, since you'd rather spend money rather than to TRY and make one yourself. (this goes to people who whine about knock off's being wrong... knock offs are wrong most of the time, but at certain points, they're not)

maybe because you ain't reading right?
at certain points, knock offs are alright. like for example, these headlights. you can fab one yourself instead of buying the real ones. so you can actually LEARN how to do something, and maybe APPRECIATE the part a little more, knowing you fabbed it yourself.

its wrong when you go and buy other peoples (mass produced) knock off's.

Hmm, $280 for the buckets alone isn't a bad deal considering I can come up on some small HID's for cheap.

I'd definitely buy the authentic ones over the Raceonusa ones.

Supermade = Guaranteed quality and fitment

Raceon = Hit or miss.

By the way expect alot of work to make them look legit. In fact the covers looked so gay to me that i traced them on my old pop up light lids cut um and welded them to the hood, almost looks like a s14 hood with a little more anger, best way to do it i think.

DeadlyZ33
01-31-2009, 07:00 PM
my honest opinion is they 100% only look good from like 2 different angles, everywhere else they make the car look stupid, they make the car look older and more outdated and they look gay. The couple pics ppl posted of sick cars with them on were all from the same angle, and yes they looked pretty sick, but i think overall it looks like a sloppy old 1980's gimmick and they look cheap. popups look so much sexier, ESPECIALLY sleepy eyes with lil HIDs converted on them!!!

All my opinion, no hate.

toycar
02-01-2009, 04:04 AM
i have them. i hate them. first of all, only get them if your hood and roof(or entire car) is painted black. if not then it WILL look gay(i know from first hand exp). second of all, the light is so far inside the housing that all u get is two little rectangles of light on the road. some people seem to be able to deal with that but that is crap imo.

This is what i did cause the lids they came with were flat, lights were curvered, so i cut the top of the pop up light identically with the lids they came with. Looks pretty cool not done yet, still have to remold bupmer around lights so it looks perfect. Ill post more pics when thats done.
