i just use a one of those little fans you plug into your cig lighter if shit gets critical (no sr, no 240 anymore even, but the same principle applies)

i've got an sr with no ac...hell back when i had a ka with ac, i still would just roll down my windows, i RARELY used the ac, i hate the noise the blower makes, would rather cruise witht he windows down

thats the thing i kept trying to set it at least where the vent is closed and hot air dont blow in cause the engine heat is insane. i been messing with the hvac all day today, trying to get the slider to slide all the way across to cold side. the slider is only attached to one metal wire and the plastic coating on the wire was stopping it from sliding it to cold. well at the end, even at cold setting it was still hot. i think to keep the vents close you have to hit any setting and hit it again where none of the lights are on. am i correct?

But I really love to use AC in the fall. It's nice and cool but the Humidity is like 90%. Driving with a Jacket on and the AC on. Instant Dehumidifier.

My car before this one was a loaded '97 Maxima. Black, with black leather, ohmiGOD it was like stepping into a furnace during the summer months.


Also, usually I don't mind being hot when I'm driving, but I'd rather not sweat my nuts off and step out looking like I just fell in the pool if I actually have to look decent when I get to where I'm going.

I don't understand why people delete a/c. When I had my swap done the a/c compressor was unbolted from my ka and set aside with the lines still connected. A red top bracket was used to bolt the ka compressor to my s13 blacktop sr and whala...r12 a/c

my last dd didnt have ac (was not sr) and it totally sucks ass in texas!!! i could get by most of the time with just rolling down the windows and i would literally take the glass out the sunroof just so more air would come in. still got sweaty as hell, i would just wear an under shirt to wear i was going get out use a towel i carried around to dry off sweat and re apply some D.O. then put on the shirt i was actually going to wear! lol a little time consuming but it worked...

What do people do without a/c in the summer? They suffocate in the heat and die at the wheel while driving. At least I think they do, who really knows, maybe the windows go down, give it a try. I drive around with ice packs and snow cones and shit. Just need a drain plug.

For me, the previous owner put the AC in when he did the swap, and I definitely won't be pulling it out just to save a few pounds! If I was doing the swap myself, however... well, that would be a tough call!

I drove the last two summers though without a/c and it wasn't that bad, even driving home in my work clothes (luckily my work was only four miles away), but like you said what really sucks is when its raining and still hot as hell, or when you take a long trip on the highway, that's when you really sweat your ass off. I can't think of any specific tricks though, except to always wear shorts and sandals (it's amazing how much cooler it is without pants and shoes).

haha, now that sounds more like a dsm than a 240... (both of my roommates had a radiator failure on their dsm in the last month) our cars don't run hot... well... at least not with a copper radiator, gigantic subaru forrester electric fans and good ducting, they don't.
