They only say to drive "one" because chances are that ''one'' will break down and you'll never want to drive another Ford.

My 04 F-150 is the biggest pile of shit I have ever owned.

I don't have that attitude. There are countless domestics that I like (including Fords). I just though the slogan was funny.

... In a recent attempt to cut costs.

Ford recently fired their whole marketing team and left it in the hands of one boy:

Fords are okay.

My sister's Escape is janky, and has a horrible safety rating, and likes to randomly cut off in traffic, especially when nearby 18-wheelers and other things that could cause imminent death, but it's a nice vehicle.

I like Chevrolets more.

Here's one of the most recent mistakes...

Jaguar has been a drain on Ford for a LONG time. So they FINALLY make a beautiful car that can turn the brand around, the XF. And what do they do? Sell Jaguar off! Great timing guys! Someone needs a raise. And by raise I mean, FIRING.

oh please don't hesitate. Chrysler is based on Dodge no relation to Ford Playa, you might wanna separate them from your thoughts.

But, I am curious to know your views, or; Mistakes regarding Ford, If you think their sale of Aston Martin is one, then. .. .I can (somewhat communicate) though I am rather happy Dr. Ulrich did take the company

Chrysler and Ford are in the same boat right now. I'd have a hard time telling you which one is in worse shape to be honest. The new Avenger and Sebring have been two of the biggest mistakes Chrysler has made in a LONG time. I can elaborate if needed.

Ford has ONE thing going for it and that's their plan to use their new EcoBoost Turbo engines in a whole slew of cars.

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/industry/jaguar-and-land-rover-sale-confirmed-for-march-5-or-6/

This recent sale post isn't even in stone yet, the bidding company is TATA, a company based out of India, somewhere around dubai (no surprise) of which they are including Land Rover as a leverage buy along with Jaguar. I can care less for Jaguars Recent Designs, they're just trying to opt for more international recognition regarding luxury, the primary features of the XF is not the exterior, but the interiors of the latest, the New XK/RS isn't bad

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/coupes/jaguar-unveils-lightweight-xkr-s-coupe/

though, very suttle IMO almost to suttle for necessary notation. but I'll see how it drives soon, the latest XJ reinstatement is simply a boxier front and bold fender vents, very plush interior styling, along the Mibach Mercedes line.

this right there is why ford is not where chrysler is.. with the 05+ mustang. I own one. It is really a great car for the $. But i would never buy a ford truck, van, or any other ford for that manner. Dont get me wrong i like it, but i wish i would have bought a sti or evo for the $. Probaly will trade in on one.

Ford has their plan for the future like everyone else, but i think that they will stay in business for longer than i will be alive. Come on.. its ford. They invented this thing called the automobile. They have been around for over a century, and will continue to grow and make bank.

On the slogan thing, the first time i drove a stang, i bought it that day. If you havent drove one do so.. I am not a ford lover, but that stang feels so good behind the wheel..

The market share of the F150 has been dropping with more recent competition ie Tundra. It's probably WILL stay the number one selling vehicle, to but to bank your entire future around a vehicle with falling numbers is a bad move.

Ford WILL be focusing (not pun intended) on small cars going into the future. Which is very smart. I'd like to see them make a nice turnaround in the next 3 years or so. Unfortunately Chrysler's plans are not as promising sounding. The recent speech given was so generic. It really shows how clueless they are right now.

They invented this thing called the automobile...

No "one man" invented the automobile.
Nicolas Joseph Cugnot, a french engineer is responsible for the assembly of the first self-powered road driven vehicle which was refered to as a military tractor.
Henry Ford is responsible for the "production line" for mass production.

..... but yeah, he's still the man.

The shape Ford is in right now takes nothing away from the man who created the company. i knew that he invented charcoal. I believe i learned that in like 6th or 7th grade.. when we were having a bbq in class. And someone asked that question. Then it turned out to be on the test..:bash:

..... but yeah, he's still the man.HELL YA HENRY FORD IS THE MAN!! i know about Cugnot. He is a bad ass.. Lived is Brussels for awhile. I think some of my lineage traces back to him. Were still trying to work that out on the whole geneology scheme of things.

Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot (26 February (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_26) 1725 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1725) – 2 October (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_2) 1804 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1804)) was a French (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France) inventor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inventor). He is believed to have built the first self-propelled mechanical vehicle. This claim is disputed by some sources, however, which suggest that Ferdinand Verbiest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_Verbiest), as a member of a Jesuit mission in China (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesuit_China_missions), may have been the first to build a 'car' around 1672 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1672).

I'm a ford guy from day one. I've only had 5, and I still have 2. My 96 F-150 has some issues, but it also has 220k on it and don't owe me a dollar. I beat that thing so hard and what does it do in return? Burns a little oil from a leaky valveguide. Whoa there, a quart a month when I drive it. Don't really like the new trucks.

Unfortunately, when Ford stopped using the 7.3 in their heavy trucks, they made a huge mistake and are probably on their 2nd or third diesel since then. And another huge mistake, IMO, was the down syndrome look they kinda gave their heavy trucks as well.

Chevy's new trucks are pretty nice, I drove an 07 2500HD with the 8.1 for a few months and I gotta say, the thing was a blast. I've also beaten the living shit outta an iron duke motor in a early nineties s-10. Jumped that truck everyday for a whole summer, ran it up the one side of a hill, shut it off, rolled down the other side til I hit gravel, dumped the clutch and slid sideways til I was pointed in the direction of that jump too. It was a maintenace vehicle at the summer camp I worked at. We called it tighty whitey and every day after landing, I had to put the glovebox back on, and pick up the spilt box of nails(probably shoulda removed them early on, lol) from the floor by my feet, and fix the mirror and then I got back on my way to work, lol.

Goes to show if you treat your vehicles right, they'll last forever. HAHA!

Dodges I've owned never worked right, but that was due in part to my lack of wanting them to work right, over selling them or trading for 240's.

240's the only import I've owned and well, if I didn't beat them, they wouldn't break either.

I do have a bad feeling about the american motor companies but well, the vehicles I want and can afford aren't goin anywhere cause a 7.3 will run forever and who wants a new car anyway?
