I already searched but couldnt find any real answers.

I found this for sale and was wondering if it would work..

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/pts/602844938.html

Is the Frontier motor the same thing as my KAde in my s13? Im assuming yes, but wondering since it is OBD2 the wiring is obviously different.. Maybe just keeping my intake mani would work...

Also will the tranny bolt up? I heard somewhere the gears are different.. I would think this would work, but not sure..

I think it would be a good deal, as it only has 55xxx miles compared to my motor w/ 215xxx..

Any help welcomed..
Thanks in advance

probably closer to an s14 considering the year. So look at s14 DE swaps into s13s

I just drove my friend's dad's Frontier for the weekend while he was moving.....motor and tranny gearing feel NOTHING AT ALL like my S14. Might be just in the gearing for the tranny and final drive...but im sure the S chassis KA24de motors got a few more tweaks in the cams or something...
Hope this helps at all? :)

Longblock is the same, that's it. The Frontier is TPI, completely different intake manifold. You could swap it in easily just like anything, but there's no gain in power or ease of upgrades.

How about getting a frontier KA that's supercharged? I'm guessing you would still have to swap the intake mani thus making it just a S13/14 KA with a frontier supercharger on it.

true

plus cams are more toward LOW end rpm...that's way they die @ 5400 rpm or so...

trany is shorter by 1" and the gearing is shorter too...

HB + S14 KA-T = Fun like hell...

longblock is not the same.

frontier dohc is basically a sohc with a dohc head. they are also rear sump, but the oil pans are not interchangeable.

they are tbi, throttle body injection. tpi is tuned port injection.

there is a power difference in the intake manifolds, the car manifold is better for more midrang and top end, where the truck is suited for more torque, but they also work with the different cam specs also.

etc etc, basically it wont work without being a big pain in the ass, and is not worth it.

now what about the bottom ends...caps compared to the girdle, which one is stronger and why..? I would think the girdle would be stronger, hence why they also used the same design on sr's, rb's, ca's, etc... but then caps on the truck ka's???

You swap in a Frontier KA you'll have a US or Mexico engine, at least the 240 KA is Japanese :D Says so right on the block!!!
