I was wondering if any of you guys have used this fan controller or know anyone who has. I hate to say it but it's from AC Autotechnic. I'm not a fan of their stuff but the controller seems to have some ok features. Digital readout of oil temp, water temp and volts. You can set one fan to kick in 5 degrees lower than the other to better control overall temp. It has alarms for OT, WT and Volts.

I just don't wanna be the guinea pig and have it break on me 3 weeks from now for close to $100.

Sorry for the Ebay link but it's the only one i can find with a decent description.

****While your here I wouldn't mind some other suggestions. I was hoping to get a digi display so I don't have to buy more gauges***

I don't know anything about this unit. I can tell you though that the Greddy MSS is a great piece of hardware. It controls 2 fans which can be staged and has the digital temp readout you require. You also don't need any additional temps sensors as it lets you tap into the factor coolant temps sensor.

Forget displays, you set it once & forget it ;)

DIF Fan Controller (http://www.frsport.com/DIF_Universal_Dual_Electric_Fan_Controller_Version _B_p_8173.html)

There's quite a few guys on here running this now. I've been running this controller w/ altima fans in my cars for the past couple years. Was much simpler to install than my Greddy MSS (although the MSS did have a display screen).

Of which one?

Hey guys thanks for the info. The display is more for peace of mind. I like to keep an eye on everything. I've heard nothing but good things about the DIF controller maybe I'll just bight the bullet and get that and then some more gauges. Hey, they all sweep for the opening ceremony so I guess it'll look cool lol.

I was thinking about getting the AC autotechnic thing but I decided to go with a Pivot Fan controller. Its about $200 but real nice and came highly recommended. It displays oil and water temp too.

I've got a DIF fan controller in my car and honestly... it was the easiest thing to setup!

*taking pics now*

consists of 6 wires minimum and 8 (for a switch) wires

1 POS
1 NEG
1 for FAN # 1
1 for FAN # 2
1 water temp sensor (to get the fans going)
1 water temp sensor negative I believe (80% sure)
1 switch POS
1 switch NEG

as simple as it sounds, it's simple to setup!

wires\plugs are ALL included, however I did have to buy the switch and some extra wires to make it customizable to accomodate the length since my switch was in the car and my controller was in my engine bay

4 on the right are the basic, the middle one (switch accessory) has 4 wires (2 are optional for a switch, so u can turn it on MANUALLY in between track times to let it cool down) and 2 are necessary which go to your water temp sensor.

It does NOT come with the ACC plug (air conditionner) but i'm sure most of you guys don't have A\C...

This is where the sensor plug is,

BLUE W\ RED
BLACK

the BLUE and BLACK wire is NOT used....

This is where my switch is, pretty conveniant, especially at the track IMO...

And my plug again (just to give u a better idea of where it is :)

sorry for the shitty pics, iphone... =(

IMO, get this one, it has got to be the easiest thing i've ever done, and you can also adjust when u want the fans to kick in (obviously)

it's great!

Checking in for an update on that Pivot unit. You get a chance to install it yet?

I'm using a dakota digital fan controller it work really well!! Here the web site for it. The only bad part is I had to use a seperate temp sensor for it to work right.

The Dakota Digital Fan Controller should work fine, but the DIF is this one:

bumping this up again..... ended up getting a DIF unit, got everything installed and working, what should i set the fans to for an SR ? the write up on FRSport shows for a KA, is the SR the same as far as optimal temp goes?

All engines are really.
