When driving the stick shift shakes and sometimes violently..I recently put trans moutn on and it didnt help...guy at import car garage said motor mounts are fine too. He also said that when riding with me its the carrier bushings. I went to autozone to see how much they were and he said their are no carrier bushings on a 240sx.Guy at autozone told me to go to his buddys garage so I did, he test drove it, and said its driveshaft. WTH is going on?

2-piece driveshaft, the middle of it is where that bushing is.
Replace the driveshaft, get a one-piece if you got cash for one.

So if it is this carrier bushing...how come in my 240sx book it has no words of carrier bushing? I really need to get this fix before it messes up transmission.

In your FSM, it is in the "PD" section on page 5, I should charge you for this screen shot:

See it now? It was faster than getting my car from Granny's around the corner, jacking it up, photographing it, coming in and posting... That and I was not willing to miss the lakers' game.
Again, I don't know that it is sold separately, I will be replacing the whole driveshaft with a steel 1-piece.

I cannot imagine the violent vibration being GOOD for your trans, but I might be willing to imagine you could eek by for a short while if you must.
$108 for that thing? You are aware that you're not to far off of a 1-piece shaft or a used junkyard driveshaft (or 2) with that kind of money invested?

According to the assessment of the "mechanic" you took it to, it seems so... Again, though, I would think it more sage advice to g'head and shitcan the whole thing and get a 1-piece.

For sure get a 1 piece. Seriously, you'll never have to worry about that two piece mess ever again. And if you plan on modifying the car anyway it's a nice upgrade.

You know we could have arrived at that answer about 3½ hours and 12 posts ago, right?
I mean, it only took 5 suggestions of that 1-piece for you to come clean on that, all while presenting a patchwork correction of the symptoms without ever addressing the problem. If it is not rattling at speed, you should be fine, hustle that 250ish-300 and get that 2-piece out of there, otherwise you'll be addressing this again later, especially if you try and modify the car.
