Hey guys I am sure some of you out there are having the same problem so I would like to see what you guys did. The corner where the lip mounts behind the fender broke off so the lip keeps slipping out. What do you guys do when this happens. I tried putting a bigger washer under the screw but that doesnt seem to work. I was thinking of drilling a hole through the lip and fender right under the original hole and zip tieing it or putting a bolt through. What do you guys do?

I know a guy that just used dzus fasteners on the fender, worked pretty well.

Zip-ties make the world go 'round, is an unknown cure for HIV, AND is the reason the sky is blue. Thus, they are the answer to everything.

I dont have the corner piece. I bought the car and there was just a big washer under the screw. Also what are DZUS fasteners?

If you can just drill a small hole and use a bolt, nut, and washer. This will be a pretty permenent fix. You can use a zip-tie, but thet's really just lazyness. It will tale like 5-10 mins to put a bolt and you won't have to replace it periodically like when the zip tie breaks.

I had my whole lip zip tied on. It never came of...until the car was totaled.

Another option to zip ties is to use an oversized nut and bolt with a large washer if there is anything left to bolt to.

They have an assortment of them, but what I was referring to was probably more like the SU-2300 Line.

Ya, but if it is THAT easy to put a bolt through it you'd be better off with that. I'm not a big fan of zip-tied body panels.

than use rivets or zip ties....don't cry... we don't need a catalogue of weird metal pieces :axe:

But if you don't have a dozen extra nuts and bolts laying around, zip ties will do.
Just saying.
Of course there are better ways of doing it. That was the only thing I had ZT'd on my car.

i got a bunch on nuts and bolt left over from dohc swaps from the old sohc and my old cars so I will probably just slip a bolt through with a nut.

Cry? WTF are you talking about? I guess a bolt, nut, and a couple of washers (which is exactly what I was suggesting) is weird to you. And you reccomend rivets? That's even weirder! :hammer:

Ya I'm kinda spoiled about having extra crap lying around. Right now I have like 50lbs of bolts, nuts, and washers lying around that came specifically from a 240. I have another 50lbs of random ass bolts, nuts, and washers lying around as well. Hey, if you don't have any lying around though there is always vatozone!

zipties work fine, i had my SE lip on my zenki with zipties for a long time and it never gave any problems
my corner piece broke off as well. i just drilled another hole under it and ziptied it. then down the road the ziptie broke and the lip started dragging the ground. then i ran it over. haha
depending on how low you are you might want to use those bolts.
