alright, so my car ran fine for over half a year after the swap. then, a few weeks ago, the idle became crappy (around 1500 rpms), it doesn't sound as smooth as it should, and after a few minutes, it begins purging (oscillates between 2100 and 1500 rpms). i've checked for vac leaks, and i've also tried resetting the tps. after i reset the tps, the car wouldn't even hold and idle(it would sputter between 500-900 rpms, then die). once i gave it a little gas immediately after turning it on, the idle became 1500 again ( i assume the ecu automatically adjusted), and i'm back to square one. could this be a maf problem? any ideas? thanks.

i have this problem too, but I'm map sensor based.

This also only happens when its cold. Warm weather = good idle.
super lame

i have this same problem, but mine is kinda weird because if i take the hose that goes from the cold pipe to the IACV and pinch it my idle is fine, but if i unravel it my idle is like at 2000, so i'm guessing its my IACV screw but i cant turn it because previous owner stripped it. I dont think my post helps you in any way but try to pinch that hose and see what happends.

i'll try that. i'm thinking that my iacv might be clogged. unfortunately(not really), i've got a greddy manifold so getting to thats gonna be a bitch...

Yeah I concure about the IACV because mine did the same, really bad once I swapped it out it ran fine. I also found out that with the stock t-25 I didn't need to have the rubber hose hooked up from the intake, but once I swapped my 2871R in, I had to hook up the hose, so it kind of depends on the air your pulling if you need that hose. Don't know if this helps, but just some insider info for ya.

nope that didn't do anything. but now my idle has returned to normal. today the temperature was 70, so i'm thinking that must have something to do with it (it hasn't been above 50 all winter).

The KA SOHC MAF, should be a plug and play deal.

it's not a plug and play. the plugs are different.
