I can't seem to find the answer. Does anyone know or has had experience in swapping springs bet. coilovers?

I have a set of TEIN HA's that I want to put Stance coilover springs on. I don't have ahold of them yet but would like to know they can interchange.

thanks for the help in advance.:bigok:

they should, just make sure the ID's are the same.

from what i've seen is many manufactures use the same or similar setup, like as if it all came from the same factory and then just got painted and stickered.
Call up the manufacture like TEIN ask their springs inner diameter, and call Stance and find out theirs. And make sure the height is somewhere around the same, it dosn't have to be exact cuz you can adjust it.

All of the coilovers that I have seen have 2.5" ID springs. They're pretty much all interchangeable. I am running stance springs on my flex's and they fit better than the tein springs did.

most Japanese coilover springs are 60mm ID.

since we are on the subject, does anybody happen to know the free length of KTS front springs off the top of their head? I could go outside and measure but it would be nice if somebody knew.

also does anybody know the lengths of stance springs?

i want to go lower on my KTS but cant think of any other way but to get shorter springs.

IDK man if you need shorter springs to go lower you are probably riding on the bump stops as it is. The stance springs are pretty much the same heighth as the tein ones 6" front and 7" rear I believe. I'm pretty sure you'll have to custom order springs to go any shorter than that. I think 5" is about the shortest you can go in the front.

yeaaaa i think the shortest springs commonly available are the swift 156mm ones.

well, because of the way coil overs are designed i still have the same spring travel as if i had my car a foot off the ground. (the adjustable lower mounting bracket) i think it would be okay. if anything i might run into problems with the bottom of the strut hitting the LCA or sway bar end link.

yes sir, i realize that going that low is completely retarded and my car is going to handle like a Buick cutlass supreme, but it looks soooo cool.

haha.

so does anybody happen to know the length of the stance springs?

LOfuckingL you need some 22's on that cutty dawg! I'll measure my springs tonight, I only have like 2 turns of pre-load, so they should be pretty damn close to free heighth with the car in the air.

I changed out my coilover springs. I got the info from the company and ordered the same size springs with different spring rates. Most companies will tell you not to got more or less then 2 kg from the stock springs unless you want to re valve them.

i run stance springs on megan's on one of my cars, and tein he 's with a pair of springs from my old hks coilovers. i emailed tougefactory and they told me the stances wouldnt fit megan's, i d need megan springs, so after 5 or 6 emails and compairing sizes later, i got a no returns and not responsible for failure email and they sold them to me, the stances have a ID of about 2.4-.5" and come in a few lengths, they only stock i think the 7" or 8" length, i forget which.

Little off topic but I see ur from Rhinelander...lived up there back in the day, good too see there's a boosted 240 up there haha.

So a little more on topic, how do you like the tein HE's? I may pick up a pair sometime this weekend, $600 for them so I figure cant go wrong really?
