I thought of a good idea that might help here.. I think that there needs to be a good mix of people that show up to this in order to make an impact and also to break the stereotype of car enthusiasts, there needs to be more females and 30+ year old individuals to show up to something like this. I think it will show that anyone can enjoy this sport and its not just a bunch of young punk guys. anyhow thats my 2 cents for what its worth

Cliff notes:

-We had lots of speakers today which was good.

-We showed the board the decibel chart, which was a complete slap in the face of the Rivards. Our sound testing passed ALL regulations.


-The community wants to drop the hours of operation which goes as follows:

1. Altamont raceway would open up at 9am and close at 5pm.
Meaning no more early entrance to setup our cars or for vendors to come hours early and setup their equipment.

2. The community ONLY wants 4 track days PER MONTH.

3. Of course Mrs. Rivard spoke out saying that it is an unhealthy enviroment for the neighbors in the area. When in fact she has her own course in her back yard.:loco:

Lots of small organizations spoke up to show that Altamont raceway supports a safe driving enviroment and that if the hours of operations do take a cut, it will merely affect their small organizations.

Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the whole thing, because I had other things to do, and we got set back at least 1 hour.

We were there for about 3 hours.


The head of the board guy actually lives close to the Rivards. He spoke out on how he visibly seen the stadium lights shining on the house of the Rivards. :-/

I know that there were some good organizing type guys at the last meet and i would like them to come back for this meeting to help set something up! Again if you do not know what i am talking about since the Altamont raceway had drifting banned from its track the manager and a small group of drifters (including myself) have been pushing hard for the County to let us use there airports to put on events... Drift Drag and auto-x...
