ebay flat style rear strut bars..do they work on s14's

Would this style fit s14...I thought only ones that work for the s14 rear either stood up like nismo's or layed flat like greddy...I thought the flat sraight ones were for s13's only, but I see alot of rear bars on ebay now that say 89-98:confused:

I purchased one of these off of ebay a few years back for my s14. It fit just fine. I have no idea what brand it was. Got a different setup now. But if you plan on getting into the trunk and adjusting it, Go for it. If not, just get someone (or do it yourself) to make ya one.

i have some ebay ones that look almost like that dont know what brand they are came with the car when i bought it... they fit just fine and are pretty strong and rigid (At least mine are...)

I have a cusco rear brace... and they are constructed a lot different. Installing these eBay ones look like a pain in the ass to install... not that any are in an s14 LOL.

There are actually two types of aftermarket rear strut bar.

You already mentioned the nismo type which sits above the speakers.

Then there is the "cusco" type strut which goes underneath the speakers into the trunk area. you will see two slits around the rear strut mounts where the brackets slide down into.

The one you have picture looks about right, but stay away from auctions with both chasis models, seems sketchy.

Eh yeah does seem weird when they list for s13 and 14, but unfortunately I found the bar I was looking at the company who makes it, doesn't even offer it for the rear...on s14's anyway. So that definitely makes some of them seem sketchy now.

Yeah, that one you posted wouldn't work now that I think of it. Maneuvering it into the slots to access the strut towers wouldn't go so well.
