Is it worth it to upgrade to a S14 BB turbo on my S13 SR ?
Or it's not worth the time and money for the HP gain ?
What would be the maximum HP output ?
Possible to hit 300WHP ?
Running stock bottom and head with N60, 550CC and FMIC

Yes, it's worth it. It's basically a bolt-on, with very little needed to make it fit (oil restrictor fitting, and compressor inlet/outlet adapters). I don't think you'll be getting 300WHP, but it would be a nice budget upgrade for you.

With a EMS and dyno tune you can hit around 275whp easy.

yep for the money its a great little upgrade, and you still keep good response for around town ! like the poster above me said, 280whp is probably what you can shoot for......300 is a tad high

I hit 300 rwhp on my GT2560R(S14 turbo). I tuned it myself, pretty simple really.
Stock cams did 300rwhp, but the car felt stronger with HKS 264 Step1's.

How much boost were you running with stock cams ?
BTW what's the S14 BB turbo part number 14411-75F00, 14411-69F00 or 14411-82F01?

Stock cams did 300rwhp, but the car felt stronger with HKS 264 Step1's.

definitely possible.... especially if you get a boost controller and boost like 12psi, or maybe a full bar... ur injectors can handle it thats for sure... i have an s14 bb t28 an i can feel the difference between mine and my friends t25... its worth it!

i've run 14psi with it on an s13 sr, on the stock injectors .....but with an afc and walbro of course. my injector duties were getting extremely high so i wouldn't exactly recommend that ;)

weeeeeeeeell, stock fuel setup idk, and not without a front mount.. but sure if u have a walbro its no problem... even on stock injectors with a t25 they say ur safe to run 10-11psi with front mount... t28 is 12-13psi or so...

Yea somewhere - for some reason it printed both curves down lower than what they are(they had something messed up in the Dynojet software). Numbers are displayed.
It wasn't right at 300rwhp, it was like 297rwhp or something like that. Torque was like 270 rwtq, but I think part of that is that boost was dropping to about 16.5 psi towards redline when my FReddy manifold would start making torque climb. Was running about 17.5-18 psi in the midrange. It was hitting about 80-84% duty cycle on 525cc STi injectors.
GT2876R 0.64 A/R and Nismo 740cc injectors going on very soon.
Why does no one think the turbo can do 300rwhp? It flows within about 2-3 lb/min of a GT2860RS, and people think that thing can do like 320-330rwhp all day long.
Enthalpy tuned one a LONG time ago and did 300rwhp on stock cams and stock intake manifold. It looked like it was running 18 psi all throughout the rev range(mine did that on stock everything, but boost would fall after going to the FReddy, but felt faster up top).

3'' N1 Style Catback (straight through, no res)

I'm trying to hit 300-350 Tuned.
I'm going to do it, easily.
I didn't even have to worry about reclocking the turbo outlet, I just made myself a custom hot pipe (cut and fit) As far as intake/inlet, I just found some 3'' aluminum piping I had, and bent the pipe (the s14 inlet sits facing the groud) to make it run to the oem location.
Its a painless upgrade if you know what your doing.
I was originally selling my car, but no one wanted it, and I had a good deal.
So now, I just upgraded because I had time and money.

BUT FOR THE RECORD 300HP Isn't hard to hit at all, You just need to know what your doing, and what upgrades to choose and fineline tuning.

anyways, whatever you guys wanna say, i'm just saying on realistic numbers that you wont achieve 300whp, 'specially on stock cams; u guys are telling him to boost close to 1.3bar on his setup

I didn't clock my "turbo", I was using the oem t28 inlet and outlet flanges.
All I did was simply customize the hot pipe to fit the outlet hotpipe flange.
Next time read, before you open your mouth son.
As far as the t28 inlet flange, as you can see in the picture below, It faces the ground, so I simply bent an aluminum pipe and made it bend upward to the oem location of the intake.
The picture below shows the t25 OEM setup (left) and the s14 t28bb setup (right)

I did 300rwhp on a T28 everytime I drove my car for over 2 years. Now 350... that's NEVER going to happen.
If you had cams, and didn't care about your IATs rising(like in just drag racing.. over quick), then running 19-20 psi on a T28 would likely get you about 310-315rwhp. The turbo probably won't last long running like that though. It's really not going to make beyond that without REALLY overstressing it.

this is a good thread...i might look into this for my sr....i have question though about the s14 t28 part numbers listed here:

Jap S14 (Autech/270R) 14411-RP801
this may be a dump question but what does it mean when it says facelift or pre-facelift? and also autech/270R? are they any big differences?

I am thinking about using the gt28r (gt2560r) turbo on my setup. I have heard good things about it and that it can lay down 300hp wich is my max power goal. I am looking more for response than raw power and will probably keep it at 250hp on a daily basis (i want it to feel like a nasty NA motor), just pump it up when i feel like having a little fun. I plan on stage 2 BC cams and metal head gasket as far as internal upgrades go. Will be running STi injectors, 255lph pump, nismo fpr, stock intake manifold (i have a freddy manifold but i heard you lose bottom end torque which i want to keep), expreme exhaust manifold or stock ported manifold (to keep response tight), fmic, n62 maf, rom tune and 3" exhaust. Doing a rebuild on the blacktop Sr as we speak so it'll be a fresh motor too. And like Def said, "Why does no one think the turbo can do 300rwhp? It flows within about 2-3 lb/min of a GT2860RS"

the headgasket has no direct relation to the turbo, but what i think the OP originally meant was can upping the boost cause a problem.
this is why HG upgrades and ARP studs are popular. on engines that are fitted with turbos from the factory, you are usually safe in terms of head stud/hg strength. but yes upping the boost can of course cause your head to lift if you aren't careful. arp studs and a nice headgasket will give you peace of mind.
i like this thread tho. i'm piecing together my own setup. just purchsed an S15 bb to start off with. hopefully this will keep going so i have more to reference.

Yea. head won't lift from 10 lbs, and probably not from 15-18 either.
Doesn't matter for me, I've got arp's and apexi MHG.
