lighting issue

I'm having an issue with my fuse blowing (rear tail lamp) every time i turn on my dash lights which also run the rear lights that turn on with the headlights. So i really cant drive at night. Theres no dash lights or rear lights. The brake lights/flashers/headlights/turn signals all work just fine.
I'm assuming i got a short somewhere? Any ideas where to check?

first check fuses just to make sure...
you can either start at the tailights and work your way up or start at the switch and work your way back

if it were me i would check the switch, then start at the tailights and work my way up, good luck though
