hmmm...i wonder if that goes for the whole county? i'd hate to have to get my pug fixed. some lady's offering me some $$ when her female pug's in heat. also, how would they enforce something like that?

I have a full bred pedigreed unneutered male Labrador Retriever with champion lines. I am not planning to breed him or anything but I have one question. Does neutering a dog at an early age limit his growth? I was only thinking about neutering him by the age of two when most dogs are fully grown. Any effects on muscalature? He's real beefy right now at age one.

Maybe I should've asked my veterinarian when I went. Any input would be fine from here though.

It can effect their growth. A lot of vets wont spay/neuter until 7 months. At age one he should be fully grown now.

I'm all for the mandatory spay/neuter laws, but 4 months old... Seems a bit rushed to me.

He'll be plenty active once he gets through the usual depression period. He just won't go nuts when he catches the scent of a female in heat "no moh".

darn less dog meat to eat...

I think its too much for LA to require spaying or neutering. Instead they should have a rule where un-fixed animals owners should pay a higher "luxury" or fertility tax. If the tax is not paid and the owner is caught with a pet that is not fixed then the animal should be fixed by the county at an approved vet.
