Ok, I just received my new lower harness from courtesy, it is supposedly a DOHC KA 5-spd harness. I removed my hacked up old one, but in order to install the new one I have to figure out what to do with these wires and plugs shown below:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y75/Gabedm/02-26-08_1118.jpg
On the top of this picture you can see two plugs off of the sr20det harness. Those plugs are (from left to right) : (Green/white - Blue/green), and (Green/yellow - Black)
All 4 of those wires are accounted for on the ka harness and I plan on cuttin off the sr connectors and splicing them onto the ka harness.
Now this still leaves two connectors on the new ka harness unused/unknown as shown in the pic. Those connectors are (from left to right on the KA harness, lower half of the pic) as (yellow/green - black) and (yellow/blue - black).
I had to cut the speed sensor portion of the sr20 harness off and leave it on the car because there was no plug that i saw to disconnect it, and i can only assume that the speed sensor is the (yellow/blue - black) connector.
If that is true, then what is the (yellow/green - black) wire pair do?
do i need it on the sr20 motor?
please help
thanks!

VSS on an S13 is yellow/black and yellow/red IIRC. The OPS is also yellow/blue. Neutral switch is green/orange, reverse is green, but again I'm going off memory.

none of those match my harness ka or sr.
from a little more inspection i found that yellow/green and yellow/blue wires make up the speed sensor on the sr20 (have yet to get under the car and confirm this but im going off the chopped up harness) only problem is THEY ARE ON SEPARATE PLUGS ON THE KA HARNESS!?!?!? and besides this, there is a damn ground wire for each of those two plugs which i have no idea where it should go.
ugh.

OK I found the speed sensor, I believe it is yellow/black, yellow/blue and its located a little bit farther up the harness.
The two plugs at the end of the tranny are yellow/green - black and yellow/red - black
any idea bout those?
thanks

The ground leads for the neutral, 5th gear, and reverse switches all tie in together further up the harness, where the alternator ground resides. If you unwrap it all you'll see. The plugs on the switches don't match between US/Japan, so that be your other issue if you're using the JDM switches.
What are you trying to do exactly? All you need is the VSS.
It's been a while since I pilfered an S13 lower harness but I know for certain the reverse switch is green.

ok, rdm, if you can confirm the yellow/green and yellow/red wires are useless, then ill just leave them there unused. what is the OPS? i traced the huge ground back up, where should i hook it up to? my ole hacked up sr one had the ground cut off. thanks again.

OPS, oil pressure switch. Trash.
The neutral and 5th gear switches do nothing except trip a CEL if not connected. Do a search, you'll find plenty of threads where I've explained all this. The VSS is only needed for speed, you can theoretically leave every bit of it unhooked, it won't affect anything, but you won't have a speedometer of course. If I was you, and like every car I do a swap on whether it's an SR, RB, or just a 5spd going in, hook up the alternator, starter, and VSS. Leave everything else cut back and taped off. The 5th gear switch only serves to implement the speed/rev limiter, the neutral switch does nothing but tell the ECU when it's in neutral. How often are in neutral when you're driving?

well the ops is wired up properly allready thats not the prob, i guess im ready to go then as far as all the plugs go. thanks alot! the yellow/red wire and yellow/blue have their own plug by the fuse box, but i have no use for the 5 gear deal or the neutral switch, (maybe thats why my idle takes a bit to go back down at a stoplight lol)
