Well it's been a while since I posted anything on the forum. Partially because I try to follow my parents advice..."If you don't have anything good to say... don't say anything at all" And Partially because I STILL haven't bought my 240 yet.. Who knew a black 91' hatchback w/100k and a 5spd tranny would be so hard to find around here. Anyway I come here from time to time to read the new posts, and it seems like there's a over flow of newbies coming in. Some seem to know what they're talking about while others...Well others say things like.... "If I put this, this, and this on my car would I be able to do this, this, and this, and get this time???" But I guess everyone has to start somewhere.
Anyway, the point of this is to thank everyone for the info you guys have provided. It seems like I know so much more now than when I first came here. Not only about the 240, but about cars in general. (This is the part where u offer me the free zilvia sticker ) No but really. Thanks people... There isn't another way to get this much information on the 240 without paying a nice piece of change. Keep it up!
Oh yeh.. My bro went to dyno the V8 Rx-7 a few days ago. The next time I talk to him I'll find out the results and post them for you guys. I should have my 240 by late Jan. or early Feb. I figure if I save up 1000.00 I should be able to do an even swap for my 93' eclipse (its in good condition but needs a little work). Oh and one last thing. I'm going to Japan in May!!! Whoaaa!!! My friend works at delta and I'm going with him. Thanks to the buddy pass its only 300.00 round trip. I'm gonna really try to find the rear tail light conversion and buy it over there. Willing it fits in my suitcase (next to the ton of anime I'm bring back) and willing my friends would take a little time out to spend at the junk yard with me. "Watashiwa nissan oh s13 silvia hatchback conversion kit ni ikimashita!" Hahaha, my old japanese teacher is frowning right about now. Hmmm I wonder if I can fit a SR in my suitcase too?
Hopefully next time I'll have some real questions to ask about my newly purchased 240sx.

I'm kidding. Welcome aboard (and welcome to the 'exclusive' club when you get your 240) and I'm glad you've learnt some. I've learnt a lot on this board too, but I'm not a newbie anymore. Re: your brother's V8 RX7.... is it an FC3S ('86 - '91) or FD3S ('93-'95) .... or... SA22C?!!? ('7X - '85?) And why would anyone do such a horrible thing to an RX7?? ... ... sorry, I just get very emotional when it comes to RX7s.

Its a red FC3S convertible, with a chevy v8 engine. Im not to sure about the specs on it though. If you want you can e-mail him at
[email protected] and ask him yourself. But like I said I'll post the dyno results when I talk to him.

I'm still somewhat of a newbie, but I did the same thing when I first joined. You just sit back and learn before you ask the stupid questions, then you don't get flamed on your first post ...kind of rare thing for newbies now Your right though, there is a lot of info here as long as you are willing to spend the time to find it, there are also a lot of newbies that don't seem to share this outlook unfortunately. To all of them...GO AWAY!

Hmm I think I have seen your bros car, he has a site right, forget exactly the link, but when I was on the 240Z forums someone posted some vids of a V8 FC... but come to think of it, I don't think it was a vert, but it did have a V8 in it.
I don't know if I would ever put a V8 in a Rex, only datsuns.

I dont know if he has a web site up about it yet. He hasnt had it for very long. We both live in Georgia. He lives by the airport and I live in lawrenceville. So if you see a red convert. with a whole cut in the hood with the air filter hanging out, its him.

that's the way I (and most RX7 owners) feel about putting anything other than rotary in an RX7.
