Phase2motortrend is selling the front strut bars for $44.50 and its an amazing price. Aren't all strut bars made of the same material? Does it matter about the brand? I need some opinions for those who have the pilot front strut bars. THank you

I wouldn't say all bars are the same. I have a pilot motorsports fstb on my 240 and it does the job and looks pretty good, but I doubt it's the stiffest thing out there. At <$50 it's not a bad deal though. If I were serious I'd be looking at a cusco at 3 times the price, but that would have been more than my front and rear bars were shipped.

Dont even bother with phase2 man, go to ebay, theyre selling them all the time for about $20. All strut bars do the same thing, thats where i got my front strut bar and i couldnt be happier
I have Pilot strut bars.
Just like 240 2NR said they probably aren't the stiffest but they DO the job.
I still need to do my rear strut bar
Good Luck!

most strut bars perform roughly the same and the difference is probably minimal... only problem that you may run into is fitment problems.

Yes, strut bars perform MOSTLY the same. The major differences are build quality, fitment, and flexibility.
I say MOSTLY, because the difference between for example, Pilot bars and Cusco bars is not too great in terms of handling in a modified car. If, however, a strut bar is your only mod, the difference will be definitely noticed.
I had Pilot bars, now I have Cusco. The difference is night & day. The Cusco bars are lighter, more stiff, have MUCH better build quality and DO NOT FLEX. They fit perfectly (no adjusting endplates or changing the length of the shaft). The build quality is like comparing Daewoo to BMW.
My $98 total Pilot bars worked nicely for a long time, but my $250+ Cusco bars will work MUCH better from now on.

I got mine from phase2 also and i could feel the immediate difference. My body roll has been tighten up and my chassis feels stiffer too. For $40 bux you can't go wrong.

I have to Pilot FSTB on my S14 and like everyone else said, it does the job. I am sure that the Cusco bars are much nicer, but I am on a budget and the Pilot makes a big difference.

I purchased the pilots front and rear from phase2, I actually picked it up locally, cheap price, cool dude. Regarding performance, I wouldn't say its night and day difference if you already have other suspension mods, but its definetly a great improvement, much stiffer, you can go alot faster on turns without tires squealing than before, the only drawback is that ride quality suffers (feel every single bump on the road, especially if you drive alot in the city with crappy streets..). Not sure about cheap stuff from ebay, some say its decent, others say it doesn't seem to 'fit' properly?, but if you're on an extreme budget go with ebay or make it yourself, there's an diy on 240sx.org somewhere... otherwise I fully recommend the pilots from phase2.
